3:36 AM I'm just now seeing headlights shine through the room, I laid back down in my spot and waited for him to do exactly what I thought he was going to do . Snuck his ass in the room, eased his slick ass in the bed and tried going to sleep .

"Where you been Julius ?" I said not moving as my back faced him

He started snoring.

"Don't give me that, where you been ?"

"Out ."

"Who and where ?"

"Don't worry about it, you mad cause you couldn't come ?"

"Don't get smart with me, you leave no answers early as to where you are and ease in the bed damn near four o' clock in the morning . You know damn well you wouldn't be too happy ."

"Keep it honest, I don't care what you do . You already been doing it anyway ."

"What's that suppose to mean ?" I leaned up from the bed

"It means exactly what it means ?"

"You been acting a little funny, you got something to say, say it ."

"I'm saying it ."

"Why you being so cryptic ? What Julius what ? You saw something between Jermaine and I ? You heard something ? Open your fucking mouth, damn !"

He snored .

He was really pissing me off, I'm trying to talk but he's acting like a little bitch .

"Julius ! Stop fucking around !

"I could say that same thing ."

"Nobody is fucking around, where is this coming from ?"

"Tonight, I just wanted to do something without you . That's it, you always here you always with me ?"

"Fuck you think a relationship about ?"

"When I do want to be with you, you're not here ."

"What are you trying to say ?"

His answer became interrupted by my phone ringing, it was Gerald .

"Hello ?"

"Caira, your mother is in labor ."

"She's not even 9 months yet, she alright ?"

"I'm rushing her to the hospital now ."

I hate that I had to ask him for a ride to the hospital but I had no choice, I told him he could leave once we got there but he didn't want to . Nobody had answers as to what was going on with my mother and the baby, she wasn't that far along in her third trimester so I assumed for her to be alright .

"What's wrong with you ?" Hakeem asked

"It's 4 AM in the morning what do you think ?"

"Y'all looking kind of distant ." he noticed

"Mind your business ."

The doctors let us come in the room with her after they explained she was actually going into labor, they couldn't pinpoint why .

"I don't want a C-Section, I'm going to be all drugged up and not get to enjoy my baby ." my mother complained

"You'll both be safe though, that's all that matters ."

The doctors came in and took her out the room, I gave Gerald his camera before he forgot as he walked out in his scrubs . It was just Julius, Hakeem, and I in the waiting room . Hakeem dumb ass making it awkward by the minute, Julius and I still haven't finished what he was going to say . I was sleepy and aggravated, waited hour for her to be done . I never seen Gerald so happy before .

"It's a girl !"

We walked to the glass to see what baby belonged to us, I had a smile on my face but I wasn't happy . I felt Julius wrap himself around me, that didn't change the fact I was annoyed with him .

"She's cute ." he said

"I guess ."

"You mad or nah ?" Hakeem smirked

"Shut your dumbass up !"

"Y'all stop that, damn appreciate what we have here first ." Gerald said

I walked away to sit in the room they were placing my mom in, I grabbed a tissue to wipe my eyes . I had my back facing the door so when they came in with the baby I wouldn't show my face till I got it together, she was small but all her organs were developed enough that she didn't need an incubator or tubes . Gerald held her first, she was a smooth light chocolate almost like me . One thing for sure she was small as hell .

"Let me hold my baby ."

"What's wrong with you ?" Julius came by me

"Nothing ."

"You sure ?"

I don't know why in the hell he asking, he's part of the reason why I'm mad anyway . I don't know why this nigga trying to front like everything peaches and cream . I sat next Hakeem who didn't seem to be phased about the baby either, I got a chance to hold her . For a newborn which some come out looking ugly, she really was cute . Hearing her cry made me smile, it wasn't anything malicious just cute to hear the sound of a baby cry .

"You don't have to look at her like you don't want her to be here, you ain't the baby anymore Cai . Let it go ." Hakeem said

"No, you ain't the baby anymore . I'm okay now, you right I don't want her here but she is so ain't nothing I can do about that . Would have been better if it was a boy, but I can only sit back and watch her correct and shitty thing she did with me ."

"That's gonna fuck you up ."

"Shut up !" I smiled shoving him with one hand as I held my baby sister in the other

"I'm ready to go ." He stretched

"Here, cause this almost became you with your nasty little self ." I handed the baby over to him

"Guess she's a nice little birthday gift ."

"What do you mean ?"

"It's my birthday and cause of her everybody else forgot ."

"Oh shit ! I'm sorry little brother, happy birthday man ."

"It's your birthday ? My bad man, happy born day ." Julius said

"I don't mind sharing for today ."

I went outside to grab a soda from the cart .

"I wanna apologize, I know I'm messing things up right now but I'm just being very conscious of how close I get to you . I have issues and seeing you with -, nevermind I'm sorry . You ready to go home ?"

"I'm not going ."

"What time do you want me to come get you ?"

"I'm not coming back at all, to be honest I haven't felt the same towards you and I don't feel comfortable living with you . We both know down the road the way things are going one of us is going to fuck up, your assumption won't let me breathe . Why wait ."

"I hope you and ol boy work out ." he said taking great offense

"It's not about Jermaine, don't feel like you and I connecting like we did before and I'm young to be playing somebody's damn house wife . Waiting on you to come home, I want to do shit by myself just like you . I'll come by and get my things later ."

It wasn't like I was making the decision of a life time, I don't live his ass . I been wanting to come back home, start things over and do some shit on my own . There was no big surprise, if things should go back to how they once was then so be it maybe we were suppose to be together but maybe not .
