A complete waste of breath it was trying to convince them that not everyone needed to go to the hospital. Dmitri insisted on driving and not taking no for an answer. That was after he carried me up the stairs. I didn't even protest, my legs were to wobbly. Being placed into, what I believe was Dmitri's Jeep while Mason jumped in the back while Nate followed with the much calmer Mady. Letting out a small involuntary whimper when the Jeep hit the first couple bumps and listened to "I'm sorry" or "Are you OK?" I clenched the side of the seat with my good hand to keep from making another noise.

Finally making it to the hospital no worse for wear, unshed tears gone, Dmitri wanted to carry me the rest of the way. Giving him a dirty look then repeating it to Mason before he too offered something else just as equally ridiculous, I started off to the door where we met up with Nate and Mady. I was not being carried into the hospital. No way. No how.

I was escorted to an exam room immediately to wait for the doctor on call. Sneaking away as Dmitri and Mason argued with the nurses to allow all of them in to the room instead of the rule of only one person, Mady and I followed the awaiting nurse leaving the boys behind. Not even 30 seconds after being in the room, my newfound bodyguards and the empathic Nate walked in.

Letting out a sigh as they walked in I said, "Guys what are you doing in here? You're supposed to be waiting in the waiting area, hence the name "waiting room."

"The doc said we could," Mason answered, with a sly smile.

"What if she was getting undressed? You boys have to give Sam some space." Mady tried to help.

Both of their expressions harden and Dmitri answered this time. "If she was getting undressed for an exam for an arm, we would be kicking some ass." Mason nodded his agreement.

Letting out a sigh himself, Nate said to Mady. "Let it go babe, there's no use." With a shared look, some kind of understanding passed between them and Mady let it go without another word.

The doctor, thankfully choose that moment to enter the room. In his late 30's, a very attractive man with light brown hair with the beginning signs of grey at his temples, making him look more distinguished then aged. He was maybe 6 feet tall with an amazing body, more an athletic than body-builder. That friendly, welcoming smile would make anyone feel comfortable and those hazel eyes would make anyone trust him.

"Hello Sam. I'm Dr. James Bosje." Looking around, the once average size room felt like a shoebox with everyone in it. "I've heard you had some concerned friends with you," he said, finding the situation more amusing than I did.

Rolling my eyes, "You could say that or you can say what I'm thinking, that they are a pain in my ass at the moment, but I like to keep them around, so I guess it's all my fault." The guys looked so stressed I had to lighten the mood somehow.

Laughing as he came over, "So I heard you hurt your arm," he stated.

"I hit my elbow but the pain is shooting up to my shoulder. Dmitri was teaching me some self-defence and my elbow connected with that head of granite of his. Now it hurts like a bitch and I can barely move it."

Paying more attention to the boys helped with the pain a bit. Narrowing my eyes at Dmitri and Mason when their shoulders tensed when the doctor started to exam my arm. Even as gentle as he was it was still very tender where he touched. Nate nonchalantly made his way between the doctor and my unwelcome bodyguards. Breathing normally again once he was done the examination, I found it almost funny that the guys too took a breath the same time I did.

"The elbow does not look broken or dislocated, just badly bruised, but I want an X-ray taken to be on the safe side. Your shoulder on the other hand is dislocated. So I am going to realign it than have someone take you for that X-ray." Dr. Bosje said, than looked at Nate. "I think it will be better if you boys wait outside for a minute."

Nate nodded and looked over at Dmitri and Mason. Dmitri started to protest but Nate wasn't hearing it and forced the man outside the door.

Dr. Bosje turned back to me. "Ok, Sam, this is going to hurt." Now in front of me, I turned my head to the side and grabbed Mady's hand. Concentrating on my breathing instead of what was about to happen. I began to breathe and block out everything in the room. When he took my arm in his hands, I let out a whimper. His grip was so secure, so warm I could not move. His voice was faint in the background as my breathing increased and the pounding of my blood echoed through my ears.

Even knowing what was coming I couldn't help let out a scream before stopping myself as the doctor realigned my shoulder. The string of swear words were kept in only due to slamming my mouth shut to keep in the scream. Tears spilt out of the corner of my eyes and my breathing increased. All this happened and the ruckus outside didn't register until I seen a very pissed Dmitri and Mason burst through the door.

"Guys you know how it feels and you also know she is and will be fine," Dr. Bosje reassuring voice was soft but firm as he spoke to Dmitri and Mason.

After the X-ray, we waited for the doc, which turned out to be the fastest moving doctor ever. From the time we entered the Hospital and were ready to leave with the good news, that my elbow was not broken but just badly bruised and swollen, was the total of an hour and a half. On our way out Nate confessed on knowing the doc and was a family friend. That explained a lot.

Glad the ordeal was over and the tension between Dmitri and Mason depleted. I could not wait to get back to Mady's. My arm was in a sling, and would stay in one for a couple weeks and the pain medication they gave me kicked in hard. I was so in need of a bed, and a good twelve hours of sleep, before looking at the two houses again with a clear mind.
