"Jack," Nate's voice was laced with concern.

Meeting Nate at the front door I tried to show my confidence in this situation. "They know things Nate. What else do you want me to say?"

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" Dmitri joined us, trying to cover up how uneasy he was really feeling about all of this.

Sighing, "To be honest, I really don't know. What I do know is that they had their reasons for leaving and if I had to guess...it had to do with Sam coming here. Or at least a part of the reason." Stepping in side, I received the same welcoming I did when the Weatherspoon's owned the house. Smiling to myself, I reassured the men, "The house has welcomed Sam as its new owner, that's a good thing." I could see the worry in Dmitri face. "She's going to be alright here, this is her fate, her home. You do not need to worry so much. They would not have sold her the house if they knew their past would come back to haunt her. Sam is probably safer here alone compared to anywhere else we could keep her." I rubbed my hands together, intrigued with the surroundings. "The farthest I have been was the front room so let's check out this place." My men may not have been reassured but I was excited about this. This was giving me hope for the future. Plus I have always wanted a tour of this place.

Nate laughed wholeheartedly while Dmitri just smiled and nodded his head. I knew no words in the world would put Dmitri at ease any time soon, only time would.
