-Chapter One-
My house was regular, people thought it was small but honestly what's on the outside doesn't really tell you what's on the inside. My parents were divorced when I was eight.
It broke my heart when they would scream at each other say they hate each other every night. My mother would crawl up next to me and cry until she fell asleep.
I was only four at the time, my father wore when he married her he'd never lay hands on her and he did. Ever since I saw that I was scared of ever being loved.
That was until I met James, he was so sweet and funny, he would call me in the middle of the night and tell me he loves me, but it was a lie. He swore on his mothers grave he didn't cheat, but everyone knew he did. The worst part, he swore he would never cheat too.
Then he took off to Florida and never spoke to me again. Why should I care so much if he's going to put in no effort? I pack up my suitcase and walked down the steps.
My mother was waiting in the car for me to get in, see my mother was in debt so I would be living with my dad for a while it's only an hour away from where we are.
My dad stopped paying child care after my mother said she didn't want his money, my dad owns a beach house but that's about it. I sat in the passenger seat waiting for my mom to pull out of the driveway.
"You do know he loves you, right?" My mother says and I roll my eyes, yeah that's why he just left me with you. I placed the earphones in my ear looking out the window, my mother sighed and studied the road.

"Caitlin, baby" my father opens his arms for a hug and I just push past him. I threw my luggage in a clean room. I listen to my mother's conversations outside.
"I know you want to spend time with her but just let her two friends stay, there no trouble really." My mother begged and he let his fingers run through his gray hair.
"She's shy and it's going to be hard to make friends here, please john." My mother said and he sighed then nodded.
"I want bonding time with my daughter though Jessica." My father stated and she nodded.
"See you soon, and tell Caitlin I love her?" She says before driving off.
I walked out of the sliding doors and made my way to the fair I saw on the beach, I decide to text Nicole and Caroline and tell them the news about staying with me for the summer.
"One small smoothie," I tell the lady while placing my phone into my pants pocket she handed it to me as I handed her the money. I looked around seeing little kids screaming, playing football, playing tag or going on the fairest wheel.
I pulled out my phone when It vibrated, 'when should we come, tomorrow o-' something hit me, the cup fell out of my grasp and all over my shirt.
On the inside I was screaming, "are you okay?" I looked up to see a boy looking down at me and shirtless. His dirty blonde hair shifted to the side with little pieces out of place, he had a black metal lip ring and blue piercing eyes, "Wow thanks for your concern and no I'd rather drink my smoothie instead of wearing it" I remark and he moves forward to help me but I get up by myself ignoring his hand.
I was so irritated I just walked away ignoring him, groaning that now I have to buy a new shirt and trying my hardest to get the stain out with the napkin. "Here let me buy you a new shirt?" He suggests "I'm faltered but no thank you" I smirked.
"You know what? I don't even wanna buy you a shirt" he says a matter of fact my. "Is that so?" I question and he nods while I just walk away.
"Can I at least get a name?" He calls out when I turned around a smile is plastered on his face as I continued to walk backward "I don't believe you need to know" I say, smiling happily with my reply.
