Chapter 30

I lay with my head on Connors lap. He was just playing with my hair. He would attempt to braid, get frustrated, then start over. He did that for a few minutes. I rolled my eyes every time he would start over, and chuckle to myself at his frustration. My mother and James were fast asleep in the other chair. I had to admit, they looked pretty darn cute. Its crazy what you will do for the ones you love. Loving them at any cost, no matter the circumstances. My moms always been that hopeless romantic, but I think she's finally found her prince.

"Kiana." Connor spoke quietly, taking in consideration of the sleeping adults

"Yeah?" I kept my head in his lap

"Love is a crazy thing isn't it?" He chuckled

"That sir, is a true statement." I grinned

"But its bizarre how people fall in love, but then realize the one they've been with all along isn't the one who belongs to their heart huh." He changed is position and now my head was on his chest.

"Sometimes the heart doesn't always know what it wants my friend." I mumbled into his shirt

"But in the end, the heart wants what it wants." He sighed

A thin silence filled the air as we laid on the couch. All you could hear was the light breathing from each of us in the room. I could hear connor's steady heart beat as my head rested on his chest. Connor was such a good friend. But in all honestly he had all the characteristics of the perfect boyfriend. He was charming, caring, and comforting. Things just can't get awkward between us. Sooner or later I know he will make the first move. And as he stated; the heart wants what it wants.

Hey everyone who has read this story. It's been so long since I've last updated but I think im back. I will hopefully be continuing this story, and it was amazing to see all the feedback I got as I came back. Sorry for the short chapter but boy am I just getting started :)
