Chapter 23

Zack's P.O.V

I lazily laid on my couch in the living room. It had been 2 weeks since I've gotten home from the hospital. I had received so many gifts, calls, and text from family and friends, all wishing me well. But a certain girl crossed my mind. No Calls. No visits. And to be honest I was starting to worry. Even though we had broken up, I still needed her in my life. In my heart. She was the broken piece I needed to complete my puzzle. I needed her smile, her embrace. I needed her. Even If she wasn't willing to get back into a relationship I would be totally okay with that. I wouldn't even care if she dated another guy.I just wanted to be a friend she could depend on. Someone she would need to hold her in her arms when she was sad.

I pushed my thoughts away and stared at my iphone in my hand.I went to my contacts list and dialed Kendrick's number.

* "hello?" Kendrick's voiced filled into my ear.

"Hey dude, whats up?" I said and re-adjusted myself on the couch"

"Nothing just at home." He sounded bored.

"Wanna come over and hang out for awhile?" I rubbed the back of my neck.

"Sure man, I"ll be over in 5".

"Ok dude, bye."

"Bye" *

I hung up the phone and tossed it on the couch. But a few minutes later I picked it up again. I texted Travis a quick text message, since we were pretty good friends.

- hey dude, If you and Connor aren't busy wanna come over and chill?" -

~ Sure we"ll be over in a few~

-ok see you in a few dude-

A few minutes later Kendrick showed up and the door with an overnight bag. We did our handshake and walked back into the living room. He hadn't even been in the house for 30 seconds and he was already in the kitchen looking for food. As he scoured in the kitchen, there was another knock at the door 10 minutes later. Travis showed up with an overnight bag as well.

"Hey man." He greeted me with a gentle hug.

"Hey man! Where's Connor?" I asked.

"Oh um well we kind of had a problem. We were actually hanging out with kiana when you texted, and when we showed up here she started having a panic attack in the back seat." He said nervously.

Wait? Kiana's here?

Travis continued, "Don't worry though man, Connor's trying to calm her down." He smiled

And the thought of another guy comforting Kiana made me cringe.
