Chapter 29

"Dad?"

"Kiana! Oh looked how big you've gotten! Come give you old man some love." My dad says extending out his arms.

I shake my head then run past him into the house, slamming the door and locking it quickly. I hurry into the kitchen to see my mom and James having a nice conversation in the kitchen. My mom looks over at me and can tell something is wrong. But before she can ask the doorbell rings.

"NO MOM DONT ANSWER IT." I yell.

"Kiana, let me answer It then afterwards we can talk about what ever you want."

"NO MOM PLEASE.....DONT." I grab a hold of my moms hand making her stop.

I can now hear that Zuri and connor are coming down the stairs. They walk into the kitchen to see me scared.

"Kiana why not?" My mother began to
grow impatient

"He's back." I say almost in a whisper.

"Who?!" She is getting impatient.

".......dad." Im still holding onto her hand tightly.

Now everyone has their eyes locked on my mom and I. We both kind of state at each other not knowing what to say next.

"DADDYS BACK??" "IM GONNA GO GET HIM!!!" Zuri screeches in excited then decides to make a dash to the front door. Before she can speed off connor scoops her up in his arms.

James then speaks up." Kelly do you want me to go have a word with him." He stands up.

"No that won't be necessary. Kiana and I will go. Come on dear." She stands proudly and starts pulling me towards the door.

Im silent as she opens the door and my dad is STILL standing there. We step outside and shut the door.

"Hello David." My mother says boldly.

"Kelly, its so nice to see you again. " he does his one million dollar smile.

"I don't know why your here so you better start explaining." My mother says

"Well....I miss my family. I know we initialing never really set the divorce, but im ready to be a family again. I miss my
girls." he steps closer.

my mom laughs."WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOUR READY?" YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN READY A LONG TIME AGO."

"Kelly....don't get upset."

"Why should I not get upset? When this all started you told my daughter that I was the one who cheated. You are just full of lies David." My mom spats out with anger.

"YOUR DAUGHTER? SHES MY DAUGHTER TO! WHERES ZURI? ARE YOU JUST GONNA KEEP HER AWAY FROM ME TOO?" He's angry now

"ENOUGH." I put my foot down.

"DAD NO. WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE. WHEN EVERYTHING IS GOING GREAT YOU DECIDE TO JUST WALTZ BACK LIKE EVERYTHING IS FINE. BUT ITS NOT. MOM CAME BACK. SHE TOOK BACK HER RESPONSIBILITY. " I stand closer up him "AND IF YOU THINK YOU CAN JUST WALK BACK BEING THE BUM YOU ARE THEN-

I don't have time to finish because "my father" smacks me so hard I fall backwards onto the ground slamming my head on the concrete. Guess he didn't want a reality check. My mom starts lashing out because he just put his hands on me. I guess the guys can hear us yelling from the inside so they burst out the front door. He then has had enough and sends my mother flying onto the ground.Connor runs over to me and kneels down wrapping his arms around me. Im too stunned to even speak. Tears are just falling down my face. Connor can see how red my face is from the impact. He just whispers things in my ear like "everything's gonna be ok."

James steps up to my father, and shoves him backwards.
"How dare you put your hands on a women.... ESPECIALLY your own daughter. LEAVE NOW OR IM CALLING THE POLICE."

"And who are you?" He steps closer to james.

"The only REAL man in your girls life." He huffs.

David just spits next to James's feet, turns, and walks off our property.

By now im crying even harder. My face is burning so bad and my head is bounding I can't move. They all run over to me and my mother is balling her eyes out.

"How dare he! HOW DARE HE!" She keeps repeating over and over while sobbing.

Connor picks me up and we go into the house. He sets me on the couch and my head is in his lap. He continuously places soft kisses on the top of my head.

"You don't have to worry anymore Kiana he's gone." He places another kiss on my head.

James enters the room with two ice packs and pain medicine. He hands an ice pack and pills to me. I take the pills and place the ice pack on my head. My mother is sitting in the love seat on the opposite side of the couch. James squeezes in next to her and brings her into his chest. Which then she begins to sob harder.

"Why now. Why would he want to come back NOW?" She cries.

"Everything is going to be ok and I promise you i"ll make sure he never comes back." James rubs my mothers back and hugs her tightly.

Hey guys sorry for a short chapter. I promise the next chapters will be longer! But I'm starting to get the feeling no one even reads my story :(
