"You just said thank you?" I asked as Rory told what happened today in the market with Tom. We were at home doing homework in her bedroom. Supposedly he had offered to buy her a soda, then tried to play a game, but then just kissed her and she ran out with cooking starch.
"Yea..." she said embarrassed.
"Oh it's fine. You got kissed! I'm so happy for you" I said excitedly.
"How did it feel when Dean kissed you?" She asked.
"I told you already" I said, as I bit my lip from smiling at the memory and tried to focus on homework.
"Yea, but I want to hear it again" she begged, with puppy dog eyes. I just sighed, rolling my ey.
"It felt like pop rocks exploding on my lips, like a warmth that went through my whole body, and a comforting blanket around me. That enough detail?" I asked, and she nodded.
"Have you told mom yet?" She asked. I shook my head.
"The last time we mentioned boys she freaked out, remember?" I reminded her.
"Yea but that was during my whole argument about not wanting to go to school" she said, and I shrugged.
"I guess so. Are you going to tell her?" I asked.
"I was going to but I don't know, she seemed already in a bad mood" Rory said and I nodded."Well Todd was also saying how Dean hasn't been able to talk about anything else but you for weeks" Lane said, the next day as we were all at the cornucopia festival in town. Lane was discussing Rory's kiss with Tom, but then was able to switch the conversation over to Dean and I. I blushed and looked down as the two of them giggled.
"You like him" Rory said, teasing me.
"I know. I can't believe he likes me back" I said, giggling along with them.
"Of course he does. You two will make the cutest babies ever" Lane said, as I made a face at her. Rory just laughed.
"He's like perfect" Rory said, and I just couldn't help but smile. When we got home that night, mom was waiting awkwardly for us. I could tell something was up when she went over to Rory who was getting the Chinese out of the fridge.
"Kissed any good boys lately?" She asked her directly. Rory groaned, and looked over at me.
"It wasn't me" I said, holding my hands up. Rory nodded, then looked to Mom."Who?" Rory asked annoyed.
"Mrs. Kim" mom replied, and I just looked to Rory. I felt bad, but at least it didn't seem like she knew Dean and I had kissed.
"Of course" Rory groaned, getting the Chinese and sitting at the table with me.
"So he's cute?" Mom asked, smiling awkwardly as she sat down with us. This was like a train wreck happening.
"Yea he is" Rory replied.
"Can he spell?" Mom asked."Yes. He can spell and read. How long have you known?" Rory asked annoyed.
"Since this morning. You didn't think you could keep it a secret did you? You were making out in the market" mom said accusingly.
"We weren't making out. It was just one kiss" Rory said.
"Yea well by the time it gets to miss Pattys it's a scene from 9 and a half weeks" mom said.
