"I can't believe Jess did that" I said, as Rory and I sat in the kitchen putting together our baskets for our boyfriends

"I can't believe Jess did that" I said, as Rory and I sat in the kitchen putting together our baskets for our boyfriends. Rory sighed, annoyed. It was the day before for the bidding of the baskets, and of course, neither Rory nor I had started mine.

"He's been such a jerk recently, getting on Tom's nerves all the time" Rory said, and I just nodded, as I decided on what else to put in the basket.

"Well, it's kind of obvious that he likes you" I stated. Rory just looked at me gaped, before I looked back with a raised eyebrow. "Just think about it. It makes sense"

"No, I'm with Tom" Rory said, and I just rolled my eyes.

"Whatever you say, sis" I said, as I looked at my basket. "My basket looks pathetic, doesn't it?"

"No, it looks like my basket" Rory said, comparing ours.

"But I really want this to be special... oh I know what I'm going to do" I said, dialing up the pizza place. Rory looked at me confused, but smirked when she heard what I was doing.

The next day, Rory, Mom and I were all ready for the basket auctions. I was waiting there patiently, while everyone's basket was called forward and couples all went forth and bought baskets. Although it was a very sexist practice, it was actually really cute as well.

Well it wasn't so cute when Rory's basket caused a bidding war between Tom and Jess, and Jess won. I looked shocked, as I watched Tom, Jess and Rory in an argument. Tom stormed off, but before long it was time for my basket at the auction.

"Starting bid at $5" Taylor yelled, and I smiled when Dean bid for $10. No one else bid, luckily, so we got to go on our date by ourselves.

"So I have a surprise for you" I said, as we walked over to one of the park benches to eat. Dean looked at me quizzically. "I mean it's not as amazing as your car surprise, but I think you'll like it"

"Ok.." He said, as he sat down, and then opened up the basket. "Wait... there's actual food in here"

"Surprise" I said, smiling and Dean smiled.

"Perfect" He said, as he looked through the basket. "Wow, there's pizza, french fries, chocolate it looks like..."

"Well, first open the pizza, then the chocolate box" I said, biting my lip in anticipation. Dean looked at m e with a raised eyebrow.

He opened up the pizza box and saw a few slices, with pepperoni and bacon writing: "You stole a pizza my heart". The chocolate box opened, and in it was small chocolates framing a cute polaroid of us that my mom took at her bridal shower to Max. We were dancing, but in that moment we had stopped to share a kiss. The lights were perfectly projecting onto us, and we looked like we were glowing.

"This is..." Dean said, shocked, before cusping my face in his hands and kissing me passionately. I smiled into the kiss, before breaking apart when we heard my stomach gurgle in hunger. "Okay, we're getting you some food to eat"

"That sounds like a plan" I replied, as we started to eat.

We had a few minutes together before Tom came over and sat with us.

"Hey I'm sorry to interrupt, but I can't help but think about Rory and Jess together. He's no good. I've always thought about it, and now he's really making me crazy" Tom vented to us. I looked at Dean, who was already staring at me awkwardly.

"Well, I can tell you the Rory wouldn't do anything to hurt you intentionally. She loves you" I said, trying to make him feel better.

"I know, but I can't believe she's with him right now. I mean, if this happened to you, would you go?" Tom asked, and I just sat there wide eyed. Dean was also looking at me.

"I don't trust him, so no. But Rory does" I said, elegantly stepping around the matter as best as I could to not hurt anyone, including Rory if this conversation was to get back to her. Tom sighed.

"Why can't she get how he's bad?" Tom said, frustrated. I looked over to Dean, who just looked back at me awkward. I really wanted it to just be the two of us, Dean and I. I barely get to see him with school and extracurriculars, and now that he was switching from football to hockey, it was hard to make time between our warring schedules.

"Tom, staying here with us is not going to make you feel better" Dean said, trying to get him to leave us.  Tom sighed, looking at us, then shaking his head.

"Yea, I'm sorry. I'll let you two be. Have fun" he said, then left us alone.

"Finally, I just wanted some alone time together" I said, as Dean put the now empty basket on the ground, and pulled me closer to him.

"I know, well I'm glad your grandpa let you have the car so it's easier now, but gosh I wish you were at school with me" he said, sighing.

"Yea, well then what'd we do?" I asked, and Dean chuckled.

"Well, we could kiss under the bleachers during lunch, we could pass notes in class, or I could show off and protect you in gym class from dodgeballs" Dean said, and I laughed.

"That would be fun"  I said, kissing him lightly.

"Now, we have our one year coming up... what would you like to do?" Dean asked, and I tilted my head to the side.

"Preferably, I'd like to be with you. Maybe with some food" I said, and Dean laughed.

"Okay, food and me. That sounds like a good combo. But really, what are you thinking?" Dean asked. I shrugged.

"I hadn't thought much about it. I'm honestly just happy to be with you" I said, and Dean sighed.

"Ok, I'll figure it out" Dean said.

"I'm sorry, you know how bad I am with plans" I said, and Dean chuckled nodding his head.

"Yea, like last month when you messed up the times of the school play..." Dean teased. I just rolled my eyes.

"But we still had a fun night and you still love me, right?" I asked, and Dean chuckled.

"Of course I do" he said, kissing my forehead.

We finished the basket, and then went walking around Stars Hollow. Everyone was so loved up and couple-y, it was hard not to be so hazy-eyed with Dean. He kept his arm around my shoulder, as we went around before heading back to his house to watch a movie and hang out with his little sister.

Dean's POV

I watched as Tory fell asleep on my lap again. I smiled, as I played with her hair in my fingers

I had this big plan for our one year anniversary... and I hope it didn't go like the way the last big plan for our anniversary went...

I knew how much I loved her, and I knew how much she loved me, so I hoped that everything would be perfect. I didn't build her a car or anything like that, but I think it'd be an experience to remember.
