"Why did we agree to do this?" I groaned, as Finn and I parked in front of my grandparent's house. It had been a crazy week, considering all the drama that happened with Rory and Logan's getting together, family shaming dinner, and Rory's new internship.

I had been there to get Rory's hair and makeup done for the dinner, afterwards when she cried about what his parents thought, clothes shopping for the internship, and everything that related to helping her like a sister would. I was exhausted. I had my own things to worry about, but Rory as always needed help with her life.
"Because we need to be there to support your sister and Logan. It'll be fun" Finn said, as I rolled my eyes. Since Logan was coming, Grandma and Grandpa thought it'd be appropriate to invite Finn as well.
I didn't want to go. I was exhausted from medical exams, summer internship interviews, and volunteering for extra hours at the hospital. I would rather sleep, which had taken a back seat to Rory's drama and my school work. To be honest, I'd barely seen Finn, who was probably sleeping with another girl for all the nights I wasn't there anymore.
"Do you have that flask in your pocket?" I asked, as we got out of the car, and Finn got the gifts out of the back of his car for my grandparents.
"Do you even know me?" Finn asked fake shocked, as I smirked, reached into his front pocket and took a swig. "Now come on, we're late love"
"Eh, they already have Logan. We can wait" I said, taking another swig, before putting it back in his pocket. "Now, I'm going to apologize for everything that may or may not happen tonight, but we're going to survive if we keep the conversation off of us and onto Logan and Rory. Got it?"
"Ay ay captain" Finn said, as he kissed me, before ringing the doorbell. I let out a sigh, as we waited for someone to open the door.

"Oh Tory and Finn! You're here. You two look absolutely amazing. Just perfect, right Richard?" Grandma said, as she gave us both hugs and kisses on the cheek. I smiled lightly.
"Just perfect, my dear" Grandpa said, doing the same.
"Sorry we're late, grandma, grandpa. My class ran over" I said, as the maid got our coats.
"Oh that's perfectly alright. Your mother, Logan and Rory are already here" Grandma said as she led us into the dining room.
"I got you some gifts" Finn said, as he gave my grandparents each separate boxes.
"Oh I love these! Thank you Finn" Grandma said, as she unwrapped these candied fruits.
"I remember at the wedding we talked about those fruits, and I had them overnighted from home for you. Mr. Gilmore, I hope you like the whiskey. It's one of my father's favorites" Finn said, which earned their smiles.
"I have not had this particular one yet. I will definitely try it" Grandpa said, as we sat down in the living room. "What would you two like to drink?"

Conversations started a bit awkwardly, as my mom was essentially shunned from conversation from my grandparents, but Finn and I sat out of it, just glad the attention was more on Logan and Rory.
By the end of the night, I was extremely tired. I was all but leaning on Finn for support. Luckily, the conversation had been solely focused on Logan and Rory, so when it came time to leave, I all but snuck out.

"Tory, you look exhausted. Is everything alright?" Finn asked, concerned as I tried keeping my eyes open on the car ride back.
"Yes, I'm fine" I said simply, shrugging it off. I could tell Finn looked concerned, but I knew it would only last a little bit longer and then he'd be drinking again with someone else like nothing happened tonight. I wasn't bitter at him for being with someone else, I was more bitter about the fact he essentially didn't have to work and he'd just inherit this great company and never really have to work.
"Are you sure? You've been so busy I barely see you anymore" Finn said, as he reached over, and touched my leg gently. I shrugged.
"It's ok. Go have fun tonight" I said, kissing him gently when we finally made it back to the dorm.
