Be thankful for every heartbreak, for they were planned. They come into your life just to reveal another layer of yourself to you, and then leave. Their purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego for a bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, make you so desperate and out of control that you have to transform your life. Rory's POV
"Hey, how've you been?" Tom said as I saw him, waiting for me after I came off the bus. I shrugged.
It was Thursday, and I was glad to see him for the few minutes he had before he had to go to work.
"Not bad. Since Tory is staying at our grandparents until her dance recital so I've got the whole bedroom to myself now. It's kind of weird, but I guess that's how it's going to be when we go to college and all" I said, and Tom looked down at his feet.
"Oh..." he said. I looked at him confused.
"What's wrong?" I asked, and he looked at me a bit confused.
"No, it's just awkward talking about them. I mean, Dean's so upset after that night" Tom said.
"Dean's upset?" I asked confused, and Tom stopped in our walk.
"Wait, what did she tell you about their date?" He asked, and I thought back.
"Nothing, actually. Tory just listened to me talk about ours, and then she went to stay at our grandparents... Why? What happened?" I asked, and Tom looked shocked.
"Wow... I thought she would have told you. Dean and Tory broke up" he said. I was shocked.
"No, she didn't" I said, before we continued walking.
"Well, yea. Dean was in a really bad mood at the grocery store so I asked him what's up" Tom explained.
"I don't know why she didn't say anything. We usually tell each other everything" I said, confused and hurt that she didn't say anything. Tory was always very guarded about her feelings, but she didn't have to be so closed up about this. I thought back to when
"I'm going to go home. I'll see you later" I told him, as I left to go home and find mom.
"Mom?" I asked, as I walked in the doors.
"Yea?" She asked, in the kitchen eating pizza rolls.
"Did Tory tell you about her date on Friday?" I asked her, as I unloaded my backpack and took off my coat.
"No.. why?" Mom asked, looking at me concerned.
"Her and Dean broke up" I said, and she gasped.
"What? Did she tell you?" She asked, as we sat down at the table.
"No, Tom did, who found out from Dean. All Dean told him was that they broke up, nothing else, but Dean was supposedly upset" I said, and Mom was in shock.
