"Hello beautiful" Dean said, as he kissed my lips

"Hello beautiful" Dean said, as he kissed my lips. I smiled in the kiss. He looked so handsome in his nice pants and button down shirt.

It was Friday night which meant dinner with the grandparents. However, since Rory and I were both in the top 3% at Chilton, we were each allowed to bring a guest. Rory was bringing Tom while I was bringing Dean. Luckily Grandma and Grandpa had already met Dean, so I wasn't as nervous as Rory was with Tom.

"You look nice. Thank you for coming tonight" I said, kissing him again. Dean smiled widely, and hugged me tightly.

"Of course. Anything for you" He said, as he grabbed my hand when we walked inside of my house. Rory was waiting for Tom to arrive, while Mom was drinking coffee in the kitchen. I went to join mom with the coffee drinking, while Dean just stood there waiting for Tom to come along to come along so he wouldn't be the only male anymore.

"Finally, let's go" Mom said, as Tom knocked on the door, and we all headed into the Jeep. Rory let Tom, Dean and I sit in the back all together... well, more like I was sitting on Dean's lap in between the two of them.

"Well hello there...." Grandma said as she looked over at Dean and Tom.

"Hi Grandma, you remember Dean and Tom?" Rory said, smiling. Grandma was not happy at all it seemed to see them. While we were in the back row of the small crowd and unable to be seen fully, Dean squeezed my hand comfortingly.

"Thanks, your house is ...huge" Tom complimented, as we all walked inside.

After a few small quips between Mom and Grandma, we all entered the living room. I became really nervous when Grandpa came into the living room and stared at Tom and Dean. Last time Dean and Grandpa were together, I thought they were ok, but it seems something changed...

Everything was awkward. Dinner started really awkward, with Grandpa saying close to nothing as Rory, Mom and Tom sat on one side and Dean and I sat on the other.

It was right after presents - a set of pens - that everything went downhill.

"So Tom, Dean, where do you plan on going to college?" Grandpa asked, which were the first words he uttered essentially all evening. I looked at Dean - I knew he didn't know yet which Grandpa wasn't going to like...

"I haven't really given it much thought, but maybe UConn" Tom said, shrugging his shoulders.

"Geez Dad, why don't you start off with something like what's your favorite baseball team?" Mom said.

"I'm talking to these boys. Dean?" He asked, looking smug as he looked to Dean. I shifted awkwardly in my seat.

"Well, I don't know yet" Dean said, too nervous to think of an answer like Tom did.

"You don't know?" Grandpa asked again, directly to Dean this time. I bit my lip, looking at Grandpa.

"No, not yet" Dean admitted, shaking his head.
