"There is the boy you can never stop thinking about. Wherever you see his name, it trips you up. Even if it's one that belongs to many others, even if he belongs to someone else. You know he is a symbol of weakness, your Kryptonite. How he rushes in like wildfire and burns through everything you worked so hard to build since he last left you in ashes. He is the one who haunts your lonely mind at 3am. You set yourself on fire for someone who only stayed to watch you burn. And that darling, is the tragedy of unrequited love"

"Oh my Rory, how's that Logan Huntzberger? You two seemed so friendly at the party. You two made a handsome looking couple. He's from such a nice family" Grandfather said, as he poured us drinks. Mom looked to Rory with her eyebrow raised. I guess Rory hadn't told her anything. Couldn't blame her, I didn't either.
"I guess he's well. Tory is really close with him and that group. They're all best friends" Rory said and it was my turn to get the eyebrow raises from Mom. I kicked Rory while Grandpa or Mom wasn't looking.
"You are, Tory? Well that's incredible. Who else is in the group?" Grandpa asked.
"Yea Tory, who're your best friends?" Mom asked. I sighed.
"I hang out with them whenever I'm not studying or with Rory, but Logan, Finn, Tyler Hearst from the Johns Hopkins program, and Colin McCrae" I said, and mom then looked a little relieved. She knew about that I was hanging out with Tyler and his group of friends so it wasn't an absolute surprise.
"Yes, Finn! His family owns the largest pharmaceutical company in the world. You've made such good friends, Tory. Your grandmother and I are so proud of you. Both of you of course" grandpa said with a smile.

After dinner with Grandma, who talked about similar things including how exciting it was Rory got chosen to host a kid at Yale, I finally got hungry on the drive home with Mom. Rory had to go back straight to Yale to get ready for her Chilton girl but I could go have burgers with Mom.
"Tory! How're you doing?" Luke asked, as we came into the diner freezing.
"Better now. Cans I get a burger? Extra fries?" I asked, and Luke chuckled while nodding.
"I feel weird that my parents knew more about you than I did" mom said, and I raised my eyebrow.
"Mom, I met these guys from Tyler. I just didn't know they happened to be these wealthy people. Well except Logan. Rory wouldn't shut up about how annoying he used to be" I said, shrugging my shoulders.
"Yea, I'm going to have to ask her about that. And what about this Finn character, the heir to the largest pharmaceutical company? I know by how you and Rory reacted he's more than that" Mom interrogated. I sighed.
"So remember when Rory found out that Dean and I broke up? Yea I was with Finn that night...and we're just really good friends. Best friends...that occasionally share a bed..." I tried to say without crossing my mom out. Mom raised an eyebrow at me, smiling wickedly.
"Oh.. now when did this start?" She asked.
"Literally that first night" I said, extremely happy when Luke brought over the burgers to potentially distract Mom... to no avail.
"Now, do you see him becoming more? Like in a relationship?" She asked.
"No... Really, I just use him as a distraction. And he doesn't want anything serious either. It's just... getting drunk and sometimes more" I said, shrugging my shoulders. Mom nodded, trying to comprehend.
"Okay, I guess. Well... whatever you want then" She said, not really knowing how to react. I knew she didn't really like the idea, but she couldn't really say anything.
"Eh, it's nothing. I promise. If it was something more, I'd tell you" I said, and she smiled at that.

I left Luke's to pick up some stuff from Doosey's before I went back to Yale - nothing out of the ordinary, just some chewing gum and water for the ride home. I wasn't paying attention when I turned the corner and saw Dean. I froze, my breath caught in my throat as I saw him look at me. My eyes must've bugged out, as I swiftly turned around and went to the cashier as quickly as I could.
"Tory!" I heard him call, as I exited the market. I kept walking quickly, hoping to get away from him.
"Tory!" I heard him say, and by this time he had ran and got in front of me so I couldn't move.
"What do you want?" I asked annoyed. This was the last thing I wanted to do: talk to my ex fiancé.
"How are you?" He asked, scratching the back of his neck. He did that when he was nervous. I raised my eyebrow and crossed my arms.
"I'm great. How are you?" I replied simply.
"Good, good. Are..are you home for the weekend?" He asked.
"No, I'm heading back now" I stated, looking to my side awkwardly. I missed him, and seeing him here in front of me broke my heart. He was someone I'd never get over.
"Oh ok. When you're back home, text me. We can grab some coffee or something?" He asked. I nodded, unable to mention a word without crying.
"Bye Dean" I said, before hopping in my car and leaving.

Dean's POV

I watched the taillights of her car head out of town, and I let out the breath I hadn't realized I had been holding in. She looked so different, but good still. Her blonder hair was really pretty, not that I preferred it above or below her normal brunette hair. I thought at first I was dreaming again of Tory, but no, she was actually in the market. The same feelings as when I first met her came up again. They'd never left, but they'd been buried under a lot of hurt from our fights and distance.

"Hey Dean, did you get everything?" Mom asked when I got home. I nodded, in a daze. I put the groceries in the kitchen, before heading upstairs to look at some old pictures of Tory and I. There were a bunch, but my favorite one was the two of us at Stars Hollow Prom. We had planned our future together, what our wedding would be like and the kids we were going to have... now she didn't wear my ring anymore. Did Tory still even have it?
"Hey your mom said you were in here" Tom said, as he opened my bedroom door to see me on my bed, staring at the photo of Tory and I. I just looked up at him, unable to pull myself away from the photo.
"Sorry" I said, as I put the photo back in a drawer in my nightstand.

"It's ok... I know what it's like to miss one of them" Tom said, as he sat on a chair in my room.

"Yea. I saw her in the market today. I haven't seen her since..." I said.
"Since you two broke up? Wow. I'm sorry man. Honestly, I barely saw her when I was back seeing Rory. She made a bunch of new friends supposedly, from what I heard from Rory, so she goes out partying with them a lot" He said, and my stomach felt sick. The last time Tory was out partying a lot was the first time we broke up.

"Is she seeing someone?" I asked, almost nervously.

"I don't know. But you two broke up, Dean. She might be" Tom said, before I ignored my feelings and started playing video games with Tom.

Tory's POV

I drove as fast as I could back to Yale, stopping only to pick up pizza and lots of junk food. Tonight I felt like sitting in my bed and watching movies. I had no energy to be with anyone. Seeing Dean made my insides turn. I still loved him, but my heart hurt with so much pain over how everything ended. How much pain my heart held over that last year of our relationship.

"Hey babydoll! When do you want me to pick you up for tonight?" Tyler asked, after I picked up my phone. I rolled my eyes, as I paused the movie I currently had on. I was in a large sweater and tiny shorts with high knee socks, my hair was up in a bun, and I had my food surrounding me while I was curled up in a blanket on the couch.

"I'm not going out tonight, I'm sorry" I said.

"Why? Are you sick? Do you need me to pick you up something?" Tyler asked concerned.

"No, I just... I saw Dean when I was home and I just want to be alone, watch movies and eat. I'm sorry, have a good night" I said, hanging up the phone and pressing play on the remote. Lucy was out for the night, and I was very comfortable in my setup.

It was about a half hour later when there was an aggressive banging on my door. I groaned, and started walking to my door.

"Tory! Open up Love!" I heard, and I groaned, but reluctantly opened the door to see Aaron, Tyler, Colin and Finn. I put my hand on my hip, as I looked at them.
"We know you want to be alone, but we're not letting you. You're our Queen, and deserve the best. Colin and Tyler, get the leftover food. Finn, get Tory" Aaron said, as I was picked up bridal style into Finn's arms and we left and got into Aaron's car. Finn was considerate enough to make sure I was properly covered.

"Just so you know, you look extremely hot right now" Finn whispered in my ear, causing me to roll my eyes.

We eventually pulled up to a movie theater, and we headed inside to see an empty movie theater with large recliners, blankets, and my favorite foods. I stood there gaping for a minute.

"Finn actually thought of the idea to rent out the movie theater" Aaron stated, as we all sat down in the large recliners, as waitresses came up to us and took our drink and food orders.

"I love this" I said, as I went over to Finn and hugged him tightly.

"Anything for you, love" He said, before slapping my behind in typical Finn fashion. I rolled my eyes, shaking my head, before I curled up into my recliner.

We watched many movies, with renditions from all of us. The funniest were definitely from Finn and Colin, and I soon almost forgot about the events of earlier this evening.
