Ash-

All during acting class, Mr. Lonsdale gave me icy looks.

Well, not me in particular. Everybody, really. It was kinda pathetic how afraid of him people were. Even my fierce girlfriend!

But, after school was even worse.

He was distant, and cold. Sent me back and forth for coffee orders, and organizing his desk or folders. It was miserable.

This went on for a few days.

Until, one day, Mr. Lonsdale picked up a ringing phone. There were a few "Uh huh"s, and a few times asking about what and where, but it seemed to lift the Professor's spirits.

He set the phone back down, he spoke to me. "Miller!" His Australian accent called out to me. I walked over to his desk, humming as if it ask him to go on. "We gotta talk to my friend about business."

This made me happy. We? Did I finally get to be involved with something?! I tried to contain my joy, and nodded my head. "Great."

The clock struck five, and I practically skipped back to my dorm with the good news. "Nathan!" I called out as I stepped in, throwing my shoes to the side.

"Yuh?" I heard the response from our small kitchen. I assumed it was Nathan, but his voice sounded as if something was in his mouth.

As I walked into the kitchen, Nathan was eating a cookie. The cookies were a gift from Colton, who I told we'd accept gifts concerning food when going into college.

I chuckled as crumbs dropped from his mouth. "Guess what?" I ask. I give him all the details. It was in one week, Saturday night, around 5:30 pm.

"Cool, dude!" He said, patting my back.

I laughed and pushed his arm off me. "I know! I'm so excited!" I admit to him.

It was probably pretty stupid, and I probably wouldn't get to say anything, but it was still cool.

The day had come. I put on a dark blue shirt, a pair of practically black jeans, and some dark brown dress shoes.

Mr. L- I'm outside.

With that notification, I ran outside. There was a running car outside our dorm, and I hopped in the passenger seat.

"Hey, Professor Lonsdale," I greet, putting on my seatbelt.

"Afternoon, Miller," he replies as he starts driving.

"Why do you do that?" I ask. He had a confused look on his face, so I knew I'd have to explain further. "Call me by my last name, I mean."

"Ah," He says. "Well, it's not too formal, but not too casual either. I prefer not to be all business."

I smiled and nodded, enjoying his thorough answer. He was showing a side that I hadn't seen before. Almost like... like happiness.

The drive was mostly silent. I saw him looking at me through the mirror. I cough quietly, as if to tell him that I see his eyes on mine. He immediately turns his hazel gaze back to the road, gripping the wheel slightly tighter.

The thing is, I actually liked his eyes on me.

It was ridiculous, I know, but... I don't know. He was smart, good looking... but probably not into guys. As if there wasn't enough already preventing me from placing my lips on his right now.
