Me and Dale look at each other as we start to laugh at what his friend just said. "Sure why not! It's gonna be our last few days here until we can book flight tickets" I tell them so Dale orders the pizza's and I join his friend Blake to play some games. "So for how long have you guys been dating?" Blake asks as his eyes are fixed on the television screen.
"Oh uh, we've been dating for some months now. Time goes by when you really don't notice it so I'm even surprised at how fast time did go by but for how long have you guys been friends? He sure hasn't brought you up to me" I grab the second controller joining his game.
"Me and Dale go way back like when we were babies, our mothers knew each other. They both would always go to each other's houses, they 'd talk, laugh, discuss things but me and Dale at first were like shyish to talk to one another but after countless times of being with each other we started to talk and play outside" Blake pauses the game. "He's like the brother I never had. We always watch each other's backs or when we can at least though I'm just as surprised as you are that he didn't even bring me up at all"
Dale comes into the room and we both fall silent. "Why are my two favorite guys not talking?" He looks at the both of us waiting for a response from either one of us. "Well it's just we did talk but we are both wondering why you didn't tell me about him or why didn't tell him about me" I turn to face him as does Blake.
"Well I guess it just never came into my mind until now, I'm sorry guys I should've told you about each other sooner than later but well now you know each other at least" Dale plops himself in the middle between us. "But let's get our minds off this stuff because honestly it's not so important to talk about" Dale starts to change the subject so we both just go along with what he is starting to talk about now but right before he opens his maw again to talk about something we aren't so interested in the doorbell rings.
"Is it just me or does Dale sometimes talk about boring things?" I laugh just a bit. "Nah, he likes to ramble on about things and it's cute I guess, he's just a very silly dragon sometimes. The other times he can be a pawful to deal with ya know?" He looks at me as I know exactly what he is talking about. " I definitely know what you mean by that! Just before he had an argument with his dad and I was trying to fix the issue and stuff but like it didn't work out"
"Yea I feel you but it's all good" Dale comes walking into the room with the pizza and one slice already in his mouth being chewed away. "Someone sure couldn't wait for us but I guess something has to fuel those muscles" Dale looks at me and flexes. "You're damn right!"
After hours of playing games we end the night with watching a movie, Dale has already fallen asleep with me in his arms but with Blake close to us. "Hey, Blake? Can I ask you something?" Blake takes a minute to respond back to my question. "Sure? What is it?" I breathe out saying my question.
"Where are your parents? That's one thing I've been wondering about? Sorry if that's too personal" Blake gives me a very faint smile. "Don't worry about it. I kind of get that question a lot and my answer to you is that my mom died of cancer about two years ago and my dad works night shifts mostly don't see him much but I don't mind nor does he" I bring Blake close to being completely confused when I do so.
"What are you doing?" I ignore what he's telling me and I take out my phone getting ready to take a selfie of us two while Dale sleeps in the background. "I'm saving this moment. Years from now I'll look back at this photo and I will remember what happened this day, now smile" I put my arm out taking the photo of the both of us smiling.
"Can you send that to me later?" I hand Blake my phone. "Will do! Good thing I have your number already plus I might as well send it now cause I'm sure I might forget" I send the photo and I lie down on the floor having Blake join me by my side.
I slowly shut my eyes letting myself rest for the night until I wake up in the morning feeling as if I barely had any sleep. "Ugh what the hell..." I rub my eyes sitting up. "How can it be morning already?" I look over to my side seeing the both of the goofballs asleep still.
I switch the TV to the news. I get up walking to the kitchen looking into the fridge to see what I can make for breakfast. I stare at the empty fridge kind of shocked but I shrug walking outside to go get some groceries.
I stroll down the streets seeing some furs get in their cars going to work, others walking just like me. I arrive at a local grocery store adding things slowly to my cart trying to think of what the guys would like to eat unless they've already woken up. I finish getting everything that was on my list. "That's it" I finish putting the things on the belt.
I send Dale a message just telling him that I went out to buy some things, I help the cashier bag my stuff and I keep finding myself looking at him a lot as if I know him from somewhere. "Your total will be 78.83$" I insert my card looking at him once more before he hands me my receipt.
"Jackson...?" I look into his mossy green eyes feeling my very own eyes getting watery.
I sure need some sleep but enjoy this chapter! .3.
