We board the plane after a few short delays. I rub my paws together nervously after so much time has passed by, leaving me in such a nervous state as to wonder if those guys who have started to track me down once more will actually find me. I just don't want anything to do with my family anymore; especially my parents since they never cared about me since I was little. But that's old crap that I don't need or want to discuss.
"Boarding took a while didn't it?" Dale turns to me as we both sit down I don't answer Dale's question, so he just moves past the question with another. "I wonder what the temperature is like in Sydney? Do you think it's cold? I think I heard that it was their time for winter but I might have been mistaken" I gave Dale a few looks whilst I was looking out the window.
"Yeah, I think so?" I mumble my response. Dale huffs out a large, annoyed sigh, tired with the attitude that I have been giving him. I rest my head on his shoulder, trying my best to clear my thoughts and think happily. "Sorry Dale. It's just-I can't clear my head of all these thoughts that keep running through my head"
Dale brings me closer, wrapping his buff arm around my shoulder and kisses my cheek. "It's fine, you should know by now that I have a small fuse and there are a few things that tick me off and you just pushed my button so very slightly 'cause I know you don't mean to do the things you do. You never do" The plane taxied to the runway, stopping for a couple of minutes before the engines rev up and we quickly take flight. I fell asleep, my head resting on Dale's shoulder and accidentally drooling on him once or twice.
We get off the plane making our way to customs and getting asked a few questions that took only 10 minutes or so but there wasn't any hurry; not anymore. 'No more stress, no more anxiety, nothing should come back from my past to haunt me' I told myself now that I am going to face things head-on, no matter what along with my big manly dragon.
"Welcome to Sydney sirs" I hear the fur tell us from behind his podium. I don't pay much attention, and walked right past them to a large window, looking out at the brand new city we call home.
Dale collects our bags as I stare off towards the magnificent city, and the impressive dark blue of the ocean in the background. "It seems like we are going to have a nice day today, don't you think?" I turn to face Dale as he struggles to move all the bags, so I go ahead and grab a few of them.
"Sorry, I kind of got distracted by the scene" I give a light chuckle while Dale stands up straight, letting out a faint sigh having set the bags down.
"I'm sure it is going to be a nice day but why don't we leave this lame airport then we can talk about how the day is going to be" I nod my head grabbing my bag and wheeling my luggage alongside me.
"Now where to stay is going to be the real question?" Dale takes the lead getting us outside.
"Well the real question, Felix, is do we plan to stay here or are we just going to be visiting 'cause clearly you have family that is missing you back home"
I order us an Uber. "I know I have family looking for me, but I don't see why they care about me now Dale and I really just want to live my life without them because for my entire life they barely were there for me so like fuck them," I say looking at my phone noticing the message I got from an unknown number but I ignore it looking up to see the uber that was there to pick us up while opening their trunk so we can store our luggage in.
The whole ride to the hotel was pure silence other than the radio the fur was playing in his car and the occasional honks from other cars here and there but the fur decided to break the ice asking us a question. "So where are you fellas from?" I think in my head for a second hearing him use the word fellas but I ignore it looking over to Dale who seems like he isn't going to speak at all.
"We just came from England but we are from America. We are kind of just traveling around the world right now" I give the fur a smile even though he might not be able to see it.
"Ah well that's nice, my brother moved over to America for work," The fur says while taking a sharp turn and parking his car to the destination. "Well have a good rest of the day" I wave off to the fur walking to the front desk and checking us in.
"He was a nice fur don't you think?" I say, grabbing our key cards from the women behind the desk and thanking her as we head to the elevator.
"Yeah the guy was nice," Dale says in a flat tone. I wonder what has him all bothered, but I ignore it, wanting the day to be happy or at least somewhat happy. I open the door to our room and plop my bags down, falling onto the bed with a sigh of tired relief. "Mmm, what a comfy bed. So what do you think we should have for dinner?" I sit up and look at Dale who is opening the curtains to look out the window.
"Whatever you'd like but I'm not really in the mood to go out and dress up, so if you don't mind it would be cool if we were able to order some food to the hotel or something like that" I walk over towards Dale grabbing a hold of his arm.
"Anything for you Dale," I say going on my phone and looking through places that have delivery.
The rest of the day in our room seemed to have flown by pretty fast; eating food, watching movies, getting Dale to finally laugh after him being a big grump, and then Dale knocking out heavily, which puts a smile to my face. I get out of bed stretching seeing the bright moonshine through the window. I change into some shorts and a plain shirt going to the stairwell to try and get to the roof of the hotel wanting to see the night sky.
I smile seeing the stars along with the full moon closing my eyes taking in the peaceful night. "I wish I could have more days like this" while my eyes remain closed I then hear the roof door open thinking it's Dale. "Sorry I didn't wake you, my love, I just thought you might have liked your sleep" I stop looking up and I reopen my eyes to see not Dale but another wolf, who seems to have similar appearances to me.
"I finally found you Felix...I'm James, your brother"
End...
