Max stood in Hopper's living room with El. "So you want to rescue Will for the boys as a surprise? Anyway, why did you tell me?" Max was confused as to why El would risk her life just to organise something for her friends and boyfriend. "Yes, and I told you because I trust you the most, apart from Mike. And you aren't a boy." El explained. Max laughed about the part where she said Max wasn't a boy. "Okay, so when are you going to do it?" Max asked. El asked her if she could help arrange the surprise tonight. "Tonight. I've told the boys I'll be sleeping at your house, which I'm not, so when I come back with Will, you can help me arrange the surprise." Max understood everything from that point on, despite her being afraid for El, she kept silent about it. Her and Max were about to leave to go to school, before Max looked at her with a skeptical look when she started filling her bags with flashlights. "What? The Demogorgon hates light. Also, I can kill them easy with my mind as well." Before the two ran outside. The ginger haired girl still didn't understand why El was willing to risk her life to make her friends and boyfriend happy, but she guessed that's how much she cared about them.
Mike sat by the entrance to the school, when he saw El and Max. He noticed El's bag had a weird shape this time, like it was full to the brim, but just thought she had brought along some clothes or stuff for her and Max's sleepover, so he dismissed it, despite the bag actually having flashlights, her school books, her favourite jumper (the one she got from Mike, just in case it backfired and she was trapped) and a hazmat suit. Just so she doesn't get infected by the creature, of which only she knew the true power of, that inhabited and guarded the Upside Down because she knew it could infect her. She walked over to Mike and sat next to him. He grabbed her hand, making them both smile, as they turned to each other and kissed. It was soft and sweet, but it had the fireworks she had the first time they kissed, which made her smile even more. Mike held the short-haired girl to his chest, trying to warm them both up as he was cold and El shivered a bit. The leaves off the trees were falling, c!reating piles of red, yellow, orange and brown leaves. El stood up, grabbed some and threw them at the freckle faced boy, before he did the same. Soon enough, it was a war and the two laughed as they played, until they had to go into the school building.
School had ended, and Mike decided to have the two boys sleep over, because Max and El were having a girl's night at Max's house, so the three boys rode off together, racing home to play Dungeons and Dragons like the sad little nerds they are do. When they arrived, Mike's mom was already making food, which Mike noticed by the smell to be pasta. "Mmm, Mrs Wheeler, the food smells great!" Dustin said. "Thank you, Dustin!" Mike's mom turned around and smiled before going back to making the pasta. The three then went into Mike's basement, where they sat and played D&D until dinnertime. Mike sat next to Dustin, Dustin sat by Nancy, Nancy sat by Lucas, Lucas sat by Holly who sat by Mr and Mrs Wheeler. All six crowded around the table, enjoying the warm dinner they had been given.
El stood in her hazmat suit facing Hawkins National Lab. She was scared, but she put Mike's jumper underneath it, so it would feel like it was Mike protecting her. She liked this idea, so she smiled. Max stood next to her and planned to create a distraction in the hospital hallways, so the men would come and stop her, so El could get through. Max ran down the hall breaking stuff, which the men in the room where the entrance was ran out to stop her, so El took the chance and she went in.She had the idea to go to Mike's house, as she had been told Will went missing on his way there for the boys' sleepover and, surprise surprise, he was there. She noticed the boy right away from the picture Mike had on his wall.
"W-who are you?" He asked El. "Eleven. I'm friends with Mike and his friends, so I came to help." She told him. "There is no way you could beat the Demogorgon." He rolled his eyes, obviously not believing her. Until the Demogorgon came towards them. They had already started running, so it was just following him. El turned around and stared at it. She put her arm out, making Will turn around, for it to disintegrate into a million black pieces. So El then grabbed his arm and dragged him towards an entrance in the school, which she knew was here before when she had visited it. When El stuck her hand through, the goo had broken, so she then tried her whole body. Her arms, her head, her chest and then she fell out, landing on the polished floor of the second level of the school. They ran and climbed on El's bike, before she does off down to Max's house so they could start the surprise.
Max grabbed a big box and put Will inside. El wrote a small note from her to Mike, with her scrawl on it (she was trying to write neater), on a tag and Max was going to stick it to the box when the wrapping paper was found and put on it. El searched all the rooms to try and find the wrapping paper so she could finish the box and deliver it to Mike's house. When the girl did find it, she used her powers to cut the paper and put it on the box where Will was inside of, and El, at that moment, was thinking of how her friends would react, and when she thought they'd have big smiles, bright eyes and hug him instantly, she felt fine with the idea of being covered in mysterious goop. Now, it was time for her to see that reaction for real.
Max and El ran to Mike's house, put the box outside and rang the doorbell. When they heard walking towards the door, they jumped behind a bush to see their reactions. Mike stood at the door in his D&D pajamas, before looking down at it. "Lucas, Dustin! Come see what arrived!" And then he saw the other two walk over in their pajamas and they looked down at the present. Mike read the tag and it said:
"Dear Mike, I know you'll like this, so I got it for you.
Ps, don't ask how I got it.
El ♥"
He looked confused before taking the lid off and the boys smiled even bigger smiles than the ones El imagined they'd have when they found him inside. He stepped out and the three hugged him. "Wait, how did El do this?" Lucas asked. Max and El popped out from behind the bush, and Mike ran over and span her around and kissed her. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Before Will leaned over and whispered "Are they a couple or..." Before Dustin nodded. "Yes, they are. Also, Max is mine now." "Dude!" Will praised him and high fived him. He always shipped Max and Dustin (shameless Tay insert)
