"Will you like to participate in the Breast Cancer Walk?" Asked a woman in a pink shirt that said, "Boo Cancer!!!"
"Sure. Sign me up," Jaiden decided.
"Okay, great! That'll be a dollar, sir."
Jaiden handed the woman a dollar, and she handed him a Breast Cancer T-Shirt.
"Nelson, do you wanna join me?" Jaiden asked.
Nelson stood there staring into space.
"Nelson!"
"Huh? What? What is it, Dad?" Nelson asked.
"Okay, first: Don't call me 'Dad', it's weird, Jaiden is fine. And second: Do you wanna join me on the Breast Cancer Walk?"
"What do you do?"
"Walk a few miles," Jaiden answered.
"That's it?"
"Yup."
"Why the heck—"
"For the cause, Nelson," Jaiden interrupted.
"Hmm..... right....... fine, I'll do it," Nelson decided.
"Okay," Jaiden said.
Jaiden handed the woman another dollar, and she handed him an extra small t-shirt.
"Thank you, gentleman. The walk will be in 10 minutes," she announced.
"Alright."
Jaiden and Nelson sat down on a bench a few yards away from the trail.
"This better be worth my afternoon," Nelson said.
"Nelson, just think of all the people you'll be saving. You'll be a hero," Jaiden explained.
"A hero you say?.....aweeeesome...."
Nelson saw a woman climbing a picnic table. She stood on top of it with a megaphone. She rose up, and announced through the megaphone,
"Attention! Five minutes till the walk! I repeat! Five minutes!"
"Well Nelson, we better get ready."
Everyone lined up at the starting line.
"Where are all the cats?" Nelson asked.
"I guess you're the only cat here, Nelp," Jaiden announced.
"Suckers..... They're missing out on saving millions of lives."
Jaiden gave Nelson a noogie.
"That's right, Nelson. Suckers."
A short man tapped Jaiden on the shoulder.
"Yes?"
"Could you keep it down, buddy. The lady is announcing something," he explained.
"So sorry," Jaiden apologized.
"Shhh!"
"The Walk will start in 30 seconds!"
As the countdown hit 5, people joined in the countdown.
"5!"
"4!"
"3!"
"2!"
"1!"
*BANG!*
And off they went!
"How many miles are we walking?" Nelson asked.
"I'm pretty sure it's about five miles," Jaiden announced.
