4. Their new home

Start: 02/02/18

Teresa ran and jumped of the building. She reached out her hand trying to take Minho's hand. But it was an inch to long.

She closed her eyes and understood that it was over when she suddenly felt a hand. When she looked up she saw Minho holding her hand while Gally held Minho's legs.

"Pull us up!!!" Minho shouted and the guys started to pull them up until they were safe in the plane and the doors closed.

"Thank you Minho" Teresa said.

"It was for Thomas" Minho said and took a place.

Teresa went to Thomas and looked at him.

"You are going to be okay Tom" Teresa said. "Everything is going to be alright"

Thomas saw blurry and started to fade away. The last thing he saw was Newt laying unconscious on the other side.

~Time skip~

When Thomas woke up he looked around. He was inside a tree hut. There was a table, two chairs, a bed and a box. Thomas went up and looked inside the box. There was only clothes in there. He looked on his own clothes and saw that they were clean.

He went outside and started to search for the others. When Minho, Teresa and Frypan saw him they started to walk towards him. Teresa gave him a hug while the others just watched.

"God morning Thomas" Minho said. "You've slept for three days"

"Oh you're probably hungry. I'll get you something to eat" Teresa said and ran away.

"I'll check so that she doesn't take anything from the kitchen" Frypan said and ran after her.

"How are you feeling?" Minho asked.

"How's Newt?" Thomas asked without answering Minho's question.

"Come let's sit and talk" Minho said.

They went to a bench and sat down.

"Listen Thomas about Newt" Minho started. "It's complicated"

"His death isn't he" Thomas signted.

"No" Minho said. "He's alive. Barely. We are doing everything for him but there are just a slight chance that he will survive. His heart barely beats and his barely breathing. But we haven't given up get"

Thomas just nodded.

"Here I found this in your hand and took care of it for you" Minho said holding Newt's necklace.

"Thank you" Thomas said.

"I'll leave you alone for a while. Let you melt down what I just said" Minho said and went away.

Thomas looked at the necklace. Then accidentally he took off the top of it. On the inside he saw some papers. He took out them but hesitated. Then he took a deep breathe and opened the papers.

"Dear Thomas
This is the first letter I ever write. Well the first one since the Maze because I don't remember if I wrote anything before it. But even if it isn't my first it's probably my last. I just wanted you to know that I'm not afraid. Not of dying anyway. More of forgetting. I'm afraid of losing myself to this virus. But every night I say their name out loud Alby, Winston, Chuck. And then it's all just coming back to me. I remember the perfect moment right before the sun went down in the maze. I remember Frypan's stew, I didn't think that I would miss it so much. And I remember the first day you came into that maze just a scared little greenie who didn't remember his own name. But when I saw you ran into the maze that day I knew that I would follow you everywhere. And I have. We all have. I hope that you after a few years can look back and see that the world is on your hands and that you are going to do right. I know that you are going to do it because you always have. If I could do it all over again I would, and I would change a thing. Take care of the others for me but most of all take care of yourself. You deserve to be happy. I love you and I'm sorry that I couldn't say that myself. Thanks for being my friend

Thomas felt on single tear rolling down his cheek while reading the letter, but one that was painful enough.
