After the party, Matty was too pissed to drive so we just went back to mine. We hoped into bed as soon as we got home and Matty instantly started to kiss me.
“You’re so beautiful” he whispered into my neck.
“You’re so drunk” I whispered back.
“I know, but in the morning I’ll be sober and you’ll still be so beautiful. I think I love you”
“I think I love you too, Matt” I replied. He kissed me again and we then had sex, but I knew this wasn’t just a quick fuck anymore; this was making love. He loved me and I loved him, and that’s all that mattered. I didn’t want this whole ‘friends with benefits’ anymore and I don’t think he did either. I just wanted him. He wasn’t fucking me in this moment. It wasn’t how it was earlier. It was slow and soft, with little kisses in between. It wasn’t rough, it wasn’t kinky- it was nothing like it was earlier today. We were in love. We’d only met a month before and we were already in love. I am in love with Matty fucking Healy and he loved me back.
After the sex, we just fell asleep in each other’s arms. When we woke the next morning, I heard the first words out of Matty’s mouth for the day;
“See, you’re still beautiful” he said with a cute half smirk. I kissed him and then we got up and got dressed. Last night marked the most incredible, loving sex I had ever had with anybody. I think Matt remembers what happened because he wasn’t too gone by the time we got back. I just want to hear him say those words sober. We cooked some pancakes and took some aspirin. We showered and then decided to go for a walk. We walked down to the park where we first made the friends with benefits deal, but I feel as today it’s going to be a lot different than it was then. As we walked over to the park bench, Matty took my hand in his. I looked down at it, then looked up at him and smiled. He was so gorgeous. His hair was a curly brown mess, but it still looked beautiful. His deep brown eyes were like pools of melted chocolate, as cliché as that may sound. We sat down and he pulled me to his side, his arm wrapped around my waist with my head on his shoulder.
“You know, I really did mean what I said last night” he said as he kissed my forehead.
“So did I” I replied.
“You are the most gorgeous, amazing, caring, intelligent woman I have ever met. It was such a privilege to be able to spend this last month with you. I really do love you, Maddy”
“I love you too, Matty”
“So, following what I just said, would you accept to me asking you to be my official girlfriend?”
“Of course” I said, then kissed him harder than I ever have before.
