a lil suggestion: play the song above, it'll give today's oneshot more emotion.

And I like emotion.

wise men say,

It was the wedding day of Ryan and Shane.

The younger man stood behind closed door, his father's arms wrapped around his, tears already at his eyes. And Shane stood at the altar, his hands sweating nervously as his eyes were focused on the door infront him, waiting for it to open and reveal his beautiful groom.

only fools rush in,

The piano gave a relaxing yet romantic tune, making Shane feel at home yet with thoughts flying around his head. As the door was slowly opened, Shane could feel his heart beating heavily. Once he caught a glimpse of Ryan, he turned away, tears escaping like a stream.

He was going to marry the love of his life.

And he couldn't be any more happier.

but I can't help falling in love with you.

Ryan walked down the aisle that was covered in petals from his favourite flower, holding the plant that Shane annually gave the boy each year in his hands. Looking around, he couldn't help but feel loved. It was a familiar and comforting feeling. It warmed his heart, and his smile grew bigger at the thought. His chocolate brown eyes gazed over at the taller man, seeing tears flowing down. It was a precious moment, because he knew how much in love he was with this guy.

should I stay?

Of course there were times when Shane didn't believe he deserved to marry such a perfect man like Ryan. The man deserved more, and Shane knew he couldn't give everything to his lover.

"Shane, it's okay," Ryan had said, smiling up at him, tightening his grip on the larger hands, "I have everything I could ever dream of: you."

would it be a sin?

if I can't help falling in love with you.

And here they are; ready for commitment, ready for anything that comes their way. They have each other, and that's all that matters.

take my hand,

"Ryan. From the moment I first met you, the first time I said hello, I knew something special was going to happen. At first, I ignored it. Throwing it away like garbage. But that was a mistake. I literally cancelled everything planned on that particular date, to go hang around with you. And that's how I knew I would do anything for you. You're funny, handsome and such a kind-hearted soul. I love you, Ry. From the bottom of my heart."

Shane grabbed the ring and placed Ryan's hands into his own, sliding the gold ring on his left finger. Smiling, he planted a kiss on the smaller man's hands.

take my whole life too,

"Shane Alexander Madej, you are the dorkest man I have ever met, and yet I love you for that. We've been through a lot, and the fact that you stayed by my side through thick and thin, proves to me that you're going to make an amazing husband. I'm really grateful I met you. And I'm even more grateful you've chosen me to be your husband forever. No turning back. This is the start of a happy life, happy forever. I love you, tall guy."

Ryan took the ring and slid it on Shane's fingers, happiness covering him like a warm blanket.

After a while, the two stood there with smiles upon their faces, not removing. This was it.

"I now pronounce you, husband and husband."

And they kissed, both feeling a familiar feeling in their stomachs. Their heart beated the same rhythm, their souls together as one.

"And they lived happily ever after," Sbane whispered, softly pressing his lips on his lover's forehead. He pulled away after a minute, and gazed on his face for a while, admiring how peaceful he looked. It scared him because he was dead. Ryan can't ever come back; his soul was taken away.

He gently kissed his forehead once more, closing his eyes, savouring the moment. This was the last time he saw Ryan. And it broke his heart.

Through tears and pain, he quietly sang the last words of their favourite song, looking at only the man that laid flat on the hospital bed.

"If I can't help falling in love with you."
