"So we're going to be inviting some members of the basketball team, other people we know on campus, like my roommate and Tracy's. Do you have any other person we should add?" Lydia asked me.
I shook my head looking at my phone screen. Joe and I were texting. We've been talking about mom and he said she's doing a lot better and by Friday she should be getting out of her wheelchair. I was so nervous, even though I wasn't there but I would love nothing more than to be there beside her. We talked last night and she told me the doctor said she will be moving around normally soon.
We all were sitting in Ann and I room because the boys had basketball practice and shopping been fun. We did mostly window shopping.
"Liz!" Lydia yelled with my name which caused me to startle. "Can you put that phone down and listen to us?"
"Sorry, I was texting my brother. My mom's getting out of her wheelchair on Friday."
"She's gonna be okay right?" Ann asked looking at me.
"Yeah." They all just stare at me blankly. I can tell they want to say something. "Why are you all looking at me like that?" I asked feeling uneasy.
"You're worried about her." Tracy told me. "She's gonna be fine." I nodded in agreement. "Just don't stress, okay?"
"Alright. But can y'all stop with all the sympathetic faces? We were talking about my party. What else do you guys have in mind?" I asked trying to change the topic.
"That would be all." Lydia the party planner said. "We already have drinks. Though you're under twenty one but there are a lots of alcohol for the over twenty." She said teasingly. "It's gonna start by seven, and were using Chris place." She finished.
"Sounds wonderful. That's all?" I asked
"Yeah. What else?"
I shrugged. "I don't have anything in mind. You Tracy?" I asked her, which she shook her head with a no sign. "And you too Ann." Ann was smiling at something on her phone screen, which caused her to not hear me asking her. I quickly swiped her phone from her hand to see what it was. Unbelievably it was a picture of Luke sleeping.
I smiled at her childishness. "Ann you bloody liar. I thought you said your battery died?" I asked her still not able to suppress my smile.
"It did. I took it on his phone and deleted it after sending it to mine." She said with her cheeks all red from blushing.
"Hmm. So what are you doing with it?"
"Nothing."
"Don't you dare lie to us Ann." Tracy said in her mom kinda voice.
"Okay! Fine! I just thought he looked cute while sleeping. That's all." She said with her cheeks all red from embarrassment.
"So, you still haven't told us all the details about last night." Tracy said laying on my bed and resting both hands on her chain.
"There's no details guys." I know she's lying. I mean she wasn't even talking to Luke, then all of a sudden she slept at his place.
"So you just went over to his place and said 'hey Luke, can I sleep beside you in your bed to night?' and he agreed." I said trying to get her to tell us the truth.
"No, it wasn't like that, it's a long story."
"Then start from the top. We're all ears." Lydia said.
She puffed out a breath and began her story. We all listen without interruptions. I couldn't believe she went to Tom place, but I was also glad to know that she was finally over him and thanks to whom ever he was having sex with that made Ann mad.
