"Who're you texting?"

"Just this person I met at Karaoke Night."

"What's their name?"

"Uh, Genie."

"You really expect me to believe a girl talked to you?"

"Yes."

"Can I see your phone?"

"Why?"

"Just let me see!"

I held my phone out of Kyla's reach, frowning at him. "Do you not trust me or something?" I asked him, furrowing my eyebrows. Kyla looked irritable. He'd just woken up from one of his naps and was not in the mood to be messed with, but I was too scared to care. If he saw I was texting another boy, he'd get so mad at me! He might make me leave, he might never talk to me again.

Even though Kyla always said we weren't in a relationship, we both knew that we were. He might be afraid I'm cheating on him.

"No, Clem. I don't. I know you're a needy little brat who'll get it from whoever he can. Give me your damn phone!" Kyla demanded, holding his hand out. I bit my bottom lip, giving in. He took the device and held it to his face, reading. "Gale. You little liar. Are you two-timing me with Gale, Clem?"

"Of course not! I love you!" I insisted, getting up from my sitting position on the couch. I'd been sprawled out there, watching Pokémon reruns by myself since Kyla wouldn't let me watch it when he was there, and texting Gale. We were working on a plan to hang out during Karaoke Night and he kept bugging me to sing with him and Eddie. I considered it. I really did.

Kyla held the phone up to my face. "You two are going on a date next Friday, huh?"

"No! I'm hanging out with him and his friend, Eddie, at Karaoke Night! That's it, Kyla!"

"Ooh, a three-way?"

"Gross! No!" I cringed, crossing my arms over my chest. "T-they're both just really nice, okay? I l-like hanging out with them."

He let out a disappointed sigh, hanging onto my phone and scrolling through my texts. "Mention you have a boyfriend?" he asked.

"A b-boyfriend?" I stuttered, taking a step towards him. Did he just call himself my boyfriend? Kyla was admitting we were together?

"Well, yeah!" he huffed, glaring at me. "Did you or did you not tell him you were taken?"

"I-I didn't know if I was allowed!" I said, my throat dry. I hurried up to him, throwing my arms around my love's neck. "You're my boyfriend?"

Kyla allowed the hug. He even hugged me back. "Little shit, what did you think I was?" he mumbled. "And you can tell boys who come onto you that you have someone already, okay? But if you pull another stunt like you did with your parents-"

"I won't," I promised quickly. I didn't want to hear what he'd do if I went against his wishes. It hurt to breathe for nearly two week after the time I told my parents I was dating Kyla and was stupid enough to admit to him I did after he specifically instructed me not to.

"Alright," Kyla sighed, patting my back. I hummed and pressed a few kisses to his jaw, then came up to his lips. They weren't soft like I dreamed they were, but I loved them anyways. I loved Kyla wholly. "Don't wear your turtleneck on Friday, okay? Wear a normal shirt. I want them to see all the pretty love-marks I leave on you, okay?"

"You do?" I felt my face flush crimson as I continued to kiss him all over. My boyfriend accepted it no problem for the first time in a while.

"I want them to know you're not on the market."

"I'm not! I'm all yours!" I promised, giving him an extra long kiss. Kyla squeezed my hips. I swallowed the whimper of pain I knew he expected from me as he held particularly tight onto my bruise. "I l-love you, only you."

"I do too," Kyla muttered, pulling back. I blinked in surprise. "Don't give me that. Shut that fucking TV off and come to bed."

"But it's still early and you just woke up from a nap!"

"Are you dense? We're not sleeping."

I didn't wanna go, but I did as I was told. I shut off the TV and followed Kyla. He loved me. I could give him what he wanted as long as he loved me.

Everything was fine.
