Gale took his phone into the bathroom to chat with Dame, which gave Eddie and I the hotel room to ourselves. Technically. We were alone, but only a few feet away from Gale, so there was a good chance he could hear most of what we said. That was fine.

"So, are you ready for tomorrow?" Eddie brought up, adjusting the pillows on the bed behind him. He'd propped himself up against the headboard while I was curled up beside him, flipping through some gnarly channels on the television for us to fall asleep to. I was drained after a long, honestly uneventful day of being a tourist.

"Uh," I began, taking a moment to think, "sort of. Not really. I've never really done this before. Like, um, I never had a proper meet-and-greet with his parents. They just walked in one day while we were playing video games and we were aware of each other existing from then on. I never really talked to them. They didn't like me."

"How could they not like you?" Eddie gasped, pressing a few kisses to the side of my head. The smile he wore was contagious. I hid my face in his chest, demanding quietly that he picked a show to watch after tossing the remote in his lap. "Don't stress out, though. Our parents are chill and they're stoked to meet you. Especially my mom. Gale filled her head with how much I like you-"

"Wait, they know?"

"About me being bi or me liking you?"

"I know that you told them you're bi, but... but Gale told them that y-you have feelings for me? Gale knows?" I stuttered nervously, pulling back from my (boy)friend and knotting my fingers together. If I didn't keep my hands like that, I'd start yanking on my hoodie sleeves and I wanted to knock off that dumb habit.

"Clemmy, I think everybody kind of knows. We aren't exactly very secretive about any of it," Eddie pointed out, gently reaching out to me. I tried hard not to flinch when he did, but my body betrayed me. My back lurched, pushing all of my body parts in deeper against myself. "Sweetie, it's okay."

"No, no. You're right. I don't know why I got so worked up over that. I-I guess I just didn't expect your parents to know. It's all new to us, so I'm in this headspace that it's new to everyone, but it actually makes sense that all these other people are clued in. Gale's been waiting forever for this to happen, Jimmy always was making jokes, and your whole family knows-"

"Clem."

I let out a quiet whimper, whipping my head around to look at the adorable boy beside me. His arms were parted just enough for me to dash into them. "Sorry," I apologized. "I didn't mean to ramble."

"Are you worried about them knowing? If you are, we don't have to tell them yet," Eddie assured me, gently stroking my hair. I pushed my head into his touch, telling him that wasn't it. "Okay, sweetie. What's up then? What you said earlier doesn't make a whole lot of sense..."

"You're fine with them knowing. You don't care that your family, that our friend, that the whole world knows we're together?" It really didn't require a question mark at the end, but I needed to hear him say yes. I had to hear him nod and tell me he wanted everyone to know I was his and he was mine.

"Of course I don't, Clemmy." His grip tightened just enough.

I nuzzled him. "I love you and I-I'm excited to meet your family."

"I'm glad. I don't want to cause you anymore stress. Oh, and I love you too," Eddie hummed, kissing my forehead.

The bathroom door opened and Gale ran out, a comb stuck in his hair. "Hey, guys? I was getting ready for my chat with Dame and sort of got this freaking thing caught on a knot in my hair. Mind helping?" he mumbled sheepishly, calling no attention to the position Eddie and I were in.

Quickly, I jumped off the bed and rushed over to help him, fighting off the urge to laugh. "Impeccable timing, good sir," I commented, giving him a playful scowl. Gale smiled grinned like the little devil he was.
