Chapter Eleven - Closer To Truth

( NORMAL POV )

Gently blinking my eyes open I let my eyes adjust to the light before taking in the world around me, only to have a broad chest meet my gaze. I blinked once more before letting my eyes move up, for the first time ever Karn seemed asleep and unaware of me. My hand slowly made its way up as I carefully watched Karn to make sure I didn't wake him, when I felt no chain my mind began to race. Maybe I could get away while he was asleep, looking around though that idea quickly left my mind as I finally noticed the end of Karn's tail wrapped around my waist. Silently sighing I let myself settle back into the furs under me, I wasn't ready to move just yet and wake Karn so instead I let my eyes wander up to the sleeping form above me. If it had been in any other way we had met I would have though Karn gorgeous, hearing the stories of the guardian had left me curious not that I would have admitted it. And seeing him now like this made me feel different about him, he was almost peaceful and innocent as he slept. Memories of the night before coming to mind at the thought, after that terrible dream and all the hurt my heart was feeling he was there to offer comfort. A frown formed on my face as I remembered the dream itself and how it was him who had caused all that hurt. Did comforting me in my weakest moment make up for putting me there? I couldn't answer that, I don't think there was any way to answer that kind of question. Shaking myself out of the thought I looked back to Karn as his tail tightened around my middle, and I felt something inside me shift again. I pushed it aside thinking it was just my emotions playing with me because of my period I focused on Karn's features, I hadn't noticed the small scales lining his eyes before. They were small and pale and although they matched his other scaled seemed almost invisible unless you were up close, and before I could stop it my hand was coming up to brush over the small scaled.

Lightly letting my thumb over them I let myself get absorbed in the smooth scales, absently bringing back memories of when I would go to the zoo and see the snakes on open days. I had seen snakes from all over the world, venomous and constrictors a like and I had begged keepers to let me help out. With a little influence from my parents they had let me teaching me how to hold and react if I ever encountered them, and I had when I went out hiking in the different places my parents worked over the years. I quickly stopped daydreaming when Karn turned kissing my fingers, I pulled them back only for Karn to capture them again his eyes opening as he kissed the my hand again. I didn't pull back my hand stopping still as I was as Karn watched me with loving eyes, the gentleness stilling me in confusion. I didn't get it, one minute he was controlling and nearly insanely possessive and the next he was being gentle and caring. Seemingly taking advantage of my confusion Karn brought his other arm around my waist pulling me flush against him and moved down to being placing kisses along my throat, it felt good but I quickly came back to my senses and tried to pull back. A low chuckle was his response as he held me in place and continued his assault on my neck moving lower onto my shoulder, and when he moved lower still I knew where he was heading. "Please don't" I don't know why I asked but to my surprise he stopped, his head lifting until his headed gaze met my own. "And what will I get if I do precious?" I swallowed at his low purring tone and tried to think what I could offer him, I knew if he started I wouldn't be able to fight him or stop my body responding. I shifted my legs feeling wetness between my legs, and came up with an idea on how to get him off me and give him something he would want. "I need to go clean myself, so I could umm" Karn seemed to become curious at my words and lent closer until our noses almost touched. "You could?" I swallowed again as I worked up the will to find, finally I did blushing even as I looked away the heat of his gaze too much. "I could help you wash"

Karn chuckled at me making my blush lower and my temper rise as I looked to back to meet his amused gaze. "And you will allow me to wash you? No fighting my touch?" I hated how smug he sounded as if he had already won, which he had but I would not ever admit it of course. Nodding looking away I felt Karn's coils leave their place from around us, quickly feeling cooler than before but didn't move as Karn still hadn't let me go. "I will give you some time to relieve yourself and enter the pool before I join you. I will not be far until then" The last words were lower, and I recognised them as a warning in case I thought about trying to escape. The thought had come to mind but was dismissed as quickly as it came; I knew he wouldn't go far enough for me to get away before he caught me. Feeling his arm move I rolled off the bed and walked quickly into the joint bathing room. The large fresh water spring pool steamed lightly as the naturally heated water filled the room with a light mist, ignoring it I moved to relieve myself in the primitive toilet Karn had. I didn't know how he used it nor was I going to ask but thankful never the less it was here, quickly I relieved myself and threw away the soft material at the bottom of the underwear Coral had made me. She left some more in the bed room and told me how to re fill it, putting them aside for now I moved to enter the pool. I wanted to get clean before Karn came in, that way when he went to wash me he wouldn't need to touch me long. But my luck wasn't that good as I turned just having got fully into the warm water as I heard Karn coming in, he seemed pleased with what he saw. I was thankful my hair was over my shoulders now, having moved it to cascade over my breasts in two H/C sheets. Karn didn't take any time to examine me further, making his way into the water his coils disappearing under the surface of the water leaving only his upper body exposed. In moments like now I could almost let myself mistake him as human, then he smiled over at me letting his fangs peek out over his lip shattering that idea completely.
