( THREE MONTHS LATER – AT TERRITORIES EDGE )
"Is everything ready?" The silken voice filtered over the gentle thrum of the small teir of waterfalls, the sound offering cover for anyone who might have been listening unseen. There was a deep sigh before an answer came, the returning voice far deeper and worn than the first. "Yes, everything is set and we all know what to do" A slow deadly smile pulled at ivory skin revealing fangs, the white of them shining in the low morning light. "Then we are ready to introduce ourselves!" There was a low murmur as other voices agreed sharing the low excitement, only one daring to voice the low doubt all had felt at one time while planning. "Are you sure this is the best way? If anything happened to her-" Vegetation gave way as the large form pushed forward towards the quiet voice of concern, the once silken tone now filled with determination and gentle comfort. "That will not happen, none of us would allow anything to happen to her. We might have failed before but this time we're ready. Trust in us and yourself" The mood lifted as the doubt cleared from the air. As swiftly as the group arrive at the quiet spot to prepare they left leaving only a bare few behind, they would need the numbers for safety and prove their point when the time came. The creatures around them became silent as they travelled, knowing better than to make themselves known to the large group of predators. Thankfully for all this group was not hunting for food, they were heading for the centre of the territory they entered with a purpose. Many saw them pass but none dared intervene or block their path, but they followed the trail. Curiosity pulled them to do so knowing the group were here for something important, none would dare do as they were without a reason. When the sound of many males and females began to filter into the air the group finally slowed, approaching the large clearing with calm slow movements. They would not appear aggressive and risk endangering the reason they had come. Finally all eyes landed on the group and a single member came forward, a smile on her lips and confident gleam in her eyes. She felt no fear even as dark aggressive eyes settled on her, like the others she had chosen to come here. One goal pushed them all forward which would fuel them to their tasks end. They would stop the past from repeating itself. This time an innocent life would not be lost to the cruelty of a male who didn't deserve them.
( AUTHOR POV )
Swallowing in an attempt to ease her dry throat Y/N looked over to the large rock where Karn was perched. He was dealing with matters raised by anyone in the territory who came to raise them as usual but refused to leave Y/N alone in the den as he did this time. Since Kirin had managed to sneak her out of the den, despite having no evidence to prove she had left or where she had been Karn had been even more observant of her. He wouldn't leave her alone anymore if at all, and especially in the last two months it was becoming even more tiring on Y/N's side to deal with. Shifting a little one hand went to drift over her stomach taking in the growing curve, the bump looking closer to a mother at six months than the four Olcana had placed Y/N at. It had been difficult in the last few months to adapt to the rapid growth but Y/N had coped with the support the females gave her. Berry in particular took looking after her very seriously, fussing over Y/N like a bossy midwife despite her lack of knowledge on what she was doing. There were times thankfully the older females shooed the young female away, such as the first time Y/N felt her babies shift inside her. Unlike a human baby Y/N had found her babies didn't kick but instead shifted, their coils pushing as they moved making an odd but warm sensation inside her. They did seem to push like human babies did which made Y/N slightly happier to have something she understood, it was something so small and simple it was easy to find joy in. Which she did regularly when she was left alone in brief windows of time, the rest was now rarely calm as she became ever more defensive around Karn. He acted as though nothing had happened before, insisting his gentler behaviour made were all she needed to take notice of. Even still wanting to be intimate which thankfully Y/N had avoided so far in the last two months... but at a cost. The denial of any attention from Y/N had increased Karn's bloodlust and anger, which was quickly directed into hunting or any who were foolish enough to step out of line. A little under a month ago the one human companion Y/N had suffered their end at Karn's claws. The blow had been a harsh one and even now quilt weighed heavily on her heart. Y/N knew there was nothing she could have done to stop him, but she wished she could have tried. The memory still invaded her dreams, just as potent as those where the face of those she had lost remained solid as stone.
