( NORMAL POV )
Closing my eyes trying to force back the tears of frustration I stilled, if I was caught then there was no point of fighting the strength of the arm set like an iron band around my waist. When hot breath fanned my ear I began to shake the image in Clarissa journal coming to my mind, silently praying Karn didn't have a room like that or use the room he had promised he wouldn't put me in again. "Calm. It is Creek; you are safe; I am going to remove my hand now. Do not scream, Lord Karn still sleeps but we must now risk waking him now" My eyes shot open so quickly that even the darkness hurt my eyes, and slowly my mind caught up with my ears as I registered the words; Creek? Sighing as my mouth was finally free and whispering harshly in return, he had scared me half to death! "Don't do that! I thought you were him" Finally my waist was free and I moved away turning to see Creek's soaked form, his skin almost glowing in the flash of lightning and his hair stuck firmly against the sides of his face and back; I could feel mine doing the same on my back suddenly thankful I had put it in a ponytail. He watched me offered a sad smile before glancing behind him and frowning heavily once more, my eyes followed to the den entrance wishing I had his hearing. After a few seconds Creek turned and began moving away towards the tree line, the only indication I had to follow was the harsh word come that left behind him; I only just heard it as the storm began to grow louder. With one last glance back at the den I followed being carful not to go too fast and slip on the wet soil, Creek seemed to have no such issue as his coils moved with ease in front of me; I watched the ground behind him as we moved. As I watched the earth that had been flattened under his weight was beaten by the rain and the grove of his coils movement was washed away, looking behind me I noted my own steps disappearing as well; letting out a breath of relief I turned to follow Creek again. The trees around me were shrouded in darkness the storm provided only giving me clear sight when the lightning broke through the darkness, I didn't see anything that was familiar as we travelled and no way to find my way back if we were lost; shaking away my indication I put my trust in my guide watching him. He seemed to know where he was going as he moved through the trees with ease, only ever pausing for a moment before moving in whatever direction he chose to follow.
When Creek suddenly stopped I had to grab a tree as I tripped over the end of his tail, looking up I found him watching me; his expression grim. His gaze darted away to nod in the direction of a tree in front of him and slowly I moved around his form to look closer, my eyes struggling to make out the slight variation on the tree's bark. Squinting my eyes in the darkness I looked at the small symbol carved into the wood, it was smaller than my palm in size but easy enough to recognise; it was a small compass looking image and above it was an arrow pointing to up and away to the left of the tree. Turning to look at my guide I found him watching me with deep sadness in his exotic eyes, a sadness pulling his lips down as he watched me. "This is where I leave you" I looked between him and the tree before opening my mouth to object, ask one of the hundreds of questions moving through my mind; anything to ease my mind as suddenly indication and uncertainty took hold. I never had the chance as Creek cut me off the sadness hardening to determination on his face, his tone no longer sad or low but firm; much like a father schooling his daughter on what he expected of her. "I have carved the way you must follow until a mile from the camp where the humans study the land, where the large tower stands. Follow them and you will reach the camp and find help there, you must be away from the camp before the dawn of the third day. When Lord Karn wakes he will hunt you down, he will not be able to scent you but it will not take him long to determine where you are headed" I felt tears well in my eyes looking back into the tree's finding little but darkness, the brief flashes of light doing nothing but add to the tension growing inside me. When I felt a clawed hand on my cheek I followed it as it pulled me to look at Creek once again, his face softer now. "You are strong Y/N, and you will do this and you will live on. Do not give up now" A tear streamed a hot path down my cheek and I closed my eyes letting my hand come to hold Creek's looking for something to give me strength, feeling suddenly lost.I felt lips touch my forehead in a gentle kiss and I took the comfort it gave happily, the quiet voice that followed was almost lost in the wind as it picked up. "Go" I opened my eyes moving back to looking into the warm eyes waiting for me, my own voice breaking as I answered. "Thank you... I won't forget you" I saw the sadness in his eyes grow as my own misted with unshed tears, but neither of us said nothing allowing the storm's unrelenting rain to bathe us washing away my own tears until I wiped them aside.
