( KARN POV )

Entering the den I scowled looking outside one more as the storm began to move over the territory my ears picking up the approaching rain and drum of thunder and clash of the lightning that followed. Coming into the den I noted the faint smell of the females I allowed to care for Y/N, they had left not so long ago which told me they were preparing to sleep until the storm passed: I had patrolled to ensure the others I protected were as well before I returned to do the same. Coming inside my bed chamber I found my mate asleep in nothing other than her lower covering but instantly I moved to her side, her small form curled into itself as she whimpered with clear distress; a nightmare? Bringing her form into my own I began to gently caress a hand over her hair as she seemed to cling to me in her sleep, I began murmuring low words of comfort into her ears; and finally she began to stir and seemed to pull herself from the unrestful sleep. Her eyes looked around the room before coming up slowly to meet mine, on contact she darted her eyes away and weakly tried to push away from me; the move even when she was at full strength would not have worked but now it was nothing more than mildly amusing. Bringing her firmly to my chest I let a growl like hiss leave me as I waited for her to stop her struggle to move away from me, when she stilled I lowered myself so I was closer to my eyes level and took her chin in hand; when she refused to follow my hold and look at me I allowed my claws to threaten to break the skin of her jaw. She thankfully followed as I had no wish to damage her and my own golden red orbs clashed with the watery E/C eyes of my mate, for a brief second uncertainty greeted me before they became duller as if she was partly lost in her own thoughts. "You killed them, their gone" The quiet and broken words stilled me as I took in the watery gaze of my mate, I knew what she spoke of; was that what she had dreamt of? Setting my jaw I prepared to reaffirm how her companions would have only been a hindrance but I never got to voice the thought, Y/N pushed her head in my hold to lay her forehead on my chest; the action making me still in partial shock. "Make me forget... please just for a little while. I want to forget" The whispered words broke into my mind making it whirl, she was asking me to make her forget; feeling my instincts scream at me in rejoice as she was finally submitting to me of her own will. Moving one hand down to hold her hip I put my fingers under her chin to gentle make her raise her head to meet my gaze once more, feeling myself hiss low in pleasure at how she was reacting to me. Moving forward I took her lips as her eyes closed.

Not only did she not refuse me but she began to move her lips with mine and for the first time when I opened my lips against hers asking for entrance she gave it willingingly; my tongue moved forward to taste her as she released a whimpered moan.
