Saturday Morning

I woke up to the sound of seagulls flying by and the ocean waves crashing against the sand. I check my phone which read 9:03am. I decided to walk out onto the balcony of my room, looking at how beautiful the ocean looked this early in the morning.

"Morning Kylie!" My grandparents said in unison at the table. I cooked myself some eggs and put some fruit on my plate with a glass of orange juice.

"Where's Chris?" I ask them while sitting down at the available seat.

"He went off to the pier. Something about a store down there he wanted to look around." My grandma told me.

"Ah, he's a sucker for shopping." I laughed. He always was, which is what I liked about him. "I should probably go out soon, I need some bathing suits."

"Oh! Speaking of that, me and your grandfather got you something for a 'Welcome' gift!"

"Oh no you didn't."

"Yes we did, here if I could just find it." She says reaching through her bag. "Oh! Here." She handed me a pair of car keys.

"You didn't." I say getting excited.

"Yes ma'am! Look out in the driveway."

I run to the window, seeing a soft yellow Jeep Wrangler in the driveway. That was not there last night. I run up and hug them, "Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!" I say excitedly.

I straightened my long brown hair and put on some mascara and light pink eyeshadow to bring out my blue eyes. I decided on a white old band crop top with some blue jean shorts and my black vans. I grabbed my phone and wallet, heading out the door and saying goodbye. I pull out my keys and unlock my brand new baby and drive down to the pier where a ton of shops are.

I park and get out to choose which store to walk in first. Deciding on a shop called Bikini Babe, I stride in instantly cooled off by the air conditioning.

As I strolled through some stories, I ended up with 3 bikinis, one black, the other yellow, and one multicolored top with black bottoms. I check the time and it's only 11am. Callie still hasn't texted about lunch so I'm just going to get a lemonade from one of these restaurants.

"One lemonade please," I tell the lady behind the counter.

"You got it!" She said back smiling. Soon she came back with my drink and I paid and went off. The words Surfer's Den caught my eyes on a vintage wooden shop. Maybe I could teach myself how to shop? I do want to try some new things.

I walked in to the store admiring the surf boards along the top of the wall, with necessities underneath on racks. "Need help?"

I jumped, "Oh, I'm just looking," I say without turning around.

"Kylie?"

I spun around immediately, "Ethan?"

"Hey!" He pulled me into a hug.

"Do you work here?" I ask him.

"Yeah my dad owns it, sort of like a family business." He smiles.
