~Tobirama's POV~
My brother invited me to the heart of the forest of the Fire Country and after some careful thinking, I gave up and went to the place. When I first arrived there, I found my brother laughing in turn with an old lady seated at the porch of a cabin. Nobody was there but as soon as my brother yelled my name, there were whispers coming from all over. I looked around to find women of all ages; young girls and even little girls, hiding behind one another, talking amongst themselves, but looking at me, until they were ushered away by the old lady. She looked as if she would crumble and turn to ash any moment; a perfect illustration of the word, ancient. Her wrinkly, saggy face, her white hair, her crouched posture, her aged eyes; everything about her screamed old. But who was she?
I was surprised that such a place existed in the forest of the country I claimed to know very well. Ignoring the old lady, who was still giving me a look, I approached my brother.
"Anija! What is the meaning of all this? And why are there shinobi here on the scout? What is this place?"
"Tobirama, I will explain all of this in time. Come inside for now." I was beckoned in the cabin which was surprisingly bigger on the inside than it was on the outside. The old lady followed after me and went to sit on the raised platform directly in front of the door. It was a wooden building, with wooden and leafy decorations and wooden appliances and weapons.
"Sit in front of me, both of you." The gruffy voice of the lady took my attention away from my surroundings and once again, I followed my brother to be seated and waited patiently until one of the two elders spoke.
"As I mentioned yesterday, Morino-baa, I would like you Tobirama to be married and one of your girls, I have no doubt, would be wonderful." Hashirama spoke, bowing his head in the end.
HUH?!
I was agitated enough and irritated enough with my brother not answering any of my questions and this statement of his was the last nail in the coffin. What even brought this up all of a sudden? He just told me yesterday that I had to get married. Then I was more than sure that he was joking but was he really?
"What do you mean by that, anija?" When I was not answered, I stood up to leave.
"Tobirama, sit down."
My brother was giving me a look that always had me obey against any excuses and which portrayed Hashirama as the Hokage he rightfully was. The old lady, I noticed among all this, was watching us amusedly and seemed like she was silently analyzing something. I sat back down and took a breath to calm myself. If anija had let his guard down and gave me 'the look', then this place and this person was surely somebody he respected. To not offend and step out of my way, I now have to do the same.
"What did you mean by scouting shinobi, Tobira-chan?"
Who was this old lady calling Tobira-chan?!
My brother seemed interested all of a sudden as well when Morino-baa asked me this. I crossed my arms and told her about encountering a shinobi on my way here and that by the looks of his weaponry and clothing, he seemed like a Konoha shinobi.
"Did you see the face?" I was asked by the lady.
I shook my head. "But he fled as suddenly as he had appeared after perhaps scrutinizing me." An odd smile appeared on the lady's face and she started giggling. Something about my encounter certainly made her happy. She tuned us out from that moment, taking out a scroll from her extremely long sleeves and began writing something.
Anija took some signal in her behavior and started answering my earlier questions.
