~Niyo's POV~

Ugghhhhh. Bacchan whyyyyyy?

I kept complaining in my head when Mori-baa told me to say my thanks to the Senju brothers after I had completely healed. It took a week but the wound healed without any complications. There weren't any attacks while I was bedridden, not that I knew of at least. Tobriama said he would visit but he didn't, I assumed because he didn't have enough time or something. Who am I to judge, he is an important figure in the village.

I passed by the village gates easily after I showed them the brooch Hashirama-sama gave bacchan in case anybody need to come to the village in an emergency so the guards won't delay us. They did object at me carrying two swords but let it go when they saw the brooch again. I wonder what this piece of accessory meant for the villagers.

The Hokage's office and the Senju residence were close to each other so when I was told that Hashirama wasn't in his office, I was led to the quarters close by. I waited a few minutes when the attendant or guard sort of went to call the Hokage.

"Ooh! Niyo-san! How have you been?" I immediately put all my attention to the head of the Senju clan as well as the Hokage of the village.

"All healed and better. Thank you."

"So, what brings you here?" He asked leading me to a garden in the compound. "Don't tell me, you are going to accept Tobirama?" He interjected before I had the chance to answer. I handed him the basket in my arms.

"Bacchan sent this as a formal thank you for helping me." Hashirama was too happy at this.

"Uwoohh! Medicinal herbs from the forest!"

"Yes, specifically the ones you might not have in the village." I pointed out.

"These will help us a lot!" He patted my shoulder which had been injured, with a bit too much force. I tried to not show any pain, failing though; the wounded area was still a bit sensitive to pressure and strain. "Still not completely healed I presume."

"Yes."

"Take it easy for a while. It's surprising really how you can stand up and walk after just a week of being healed." Hokage-sama's tone was serious now and I sensed an underlying meaning to it, which I inquired about as quickly as it occurred to me.

"What do you mean?"

"You lost a dangerous amount of blood and the poison itself had damaged some tissues and nerves. When I told Morino-baa that you could have died, I did not give her false hope of your survival thereafter either." I was quiet. "It is astonishing how quickly you rebuilt your strength."

"I don't have the luxury of being weak and defenseless."

"You are taking on an enemy bigger than yourself. You mustn't try to do everything yourself. Accept aid from your friends." I didn't answer. It was like an advice from an older brother which was exactly why it resonated in my head again and again.

A flock of birds flew off a few paces away and following them I noticed the light in the sky starting to descend from its peak. "Ah, I should be leaving."

"What? Stay for lunch." He offered.

"Thank you but I have to follow up on my routine."

"Then next time for sure." I nodded, making a promise I did not want to make and was on my way out of the Senju compound when I encountered the other brother.

"Konnichiwa." I greeted and bowed politely and to my surprise Tobirama did as well, a little lower than expected.

"Ah. I apologize for not visiting again as I said I would. I had some work to do."

"There is nothing to apologize for. I knew you would have been busy." I dismissed any awkward-slash-formal air. To be honest, I was slightly touched that he bowed that low and what for? Because he didn't visit when he said he would. Who does that? People with power are rarely that humble. I only knew of Hashirama-sama who was like this.

"Now that you can walk, I assume your wound is all healed up."

"There is still some time before I would call it completely healed-" I answered honestly, not really knowing why because at other times, my responses would have been curt and stiff and lies to not show my powerlessness and weakness. Maybe because he saw me in my weakness is the reason why I was being honest.

"Then why are you up and walking? Shouldn't resting be your priority?" Tobirama asked while I was still talking. -_-

"I had to properly thank Hashirama-sama. I won't be having time when I get back to my lookout duties."

"Oh."

"I will be leaving then." I said, already starting to walk off but stopped when a stuttered farewell greeting reached my ears.

"Oh-ah yes."

"I guess you aren't in top form as well." I said, smirking and left before the Senju could even think of an answer.

~Hashirama's POV~

"Anata, who are you eavesdropping on now?" I turned my head and spotted my wife in the distance, already shaking her head at me hiding behind a wall, spying on people.

"Mito! Come quickly!" I motioned with my hand the urgency that I couldn't with my words. When she was in arms reach, I took her by the shoulder and pointed to the two people who I had been watching from a distance. "Look! Look! They are talking!"

"Who is the woman Tobirama is talking to?"

"Niyo." I answered simply. She got the point and both of us were now looking at the pair with starry eyes, stifling our giggles.

"But didn't she reject him- Ah! Tobirama bowed to her?!"

"Oh I remember clearly what she said," I narrowed my eyes and mimicked Niyo, "'I won't be gracing you with my presence again' she said, but look at them now."

"You must ask her again!" Mito pressed.

"Yes! They are beautiful together!"

"Anija!" Both Mito and I stopped in our tracks like small prey playing dead with the threat of a hawk on its head.

"O-oh Tobirama-" Before I had the chance to explain myself or make up an excuse that would save me, my brother's words had both me and my beloved sober up.

"She has her own affairs to deal with. Don't burden her with a forced marriage."

Watching Tobirama leave after saying something like this surprised us but was enough to have Mito and I back off, now confident in his maturity that Tobirama and Niyo-san will themselves sort this out and the result would be in both their favour.

~Niyo's POV~

Talking to the brothers somewhat lifted my spirits and also left me with something to ponder over as well. The watch post was given to somebody else right now so I took my time returning and was actually careless for the first time that I simply walked into the Morinome territory without realizing that something was out of place or extra in place.

I looked back over my shoulder and spotted something. "Oya?"
