X OUR TRAGEDY X [Senju Tobirama AU]

Chapter 15

~Niyo's POV~

"Move, you lot!" I pushed against some women to get to bacchan. I had hoped that the severed hand wouldn't explode but it and despite taking the full force of the blast to myself, some women still got hurt, including bacchan. I checked her pulse through my shaking hands, my use of ninjutsu was starting to take its toll on me but I had to make sure that bacchan was still alive before I let myself be consumed by darkness. That wasn't the case though.

"What happened here?!" Even though I couldn't hear anything at the moment, Tobirama's chakra felt like it was speaking. I didn't know what came over me but knowing that he was here, my body started to give in to the strain. I tried my best to stay awake, to know that bacchan was safe but I couldn't. A bunch of women crowding over me was the last thing that I saw before it was unbearable to stay awake.

~Tobirama's POV~

My marking various points in the forest came handy today when I had to use Hiraiishin after hearing that huge blast where the Morinome was. Anija was controlling the situation inside the village being the hokage and the villagers panicking at the proximity of the explosion. The guards outside the forest were immediately on the scene.

A lot of women were crowded in one area that was definitely the most affected by the explosion. Upon knowing of my arrival, they cleared a way for the medic team and while the medics were doing what they do, I scanned the area for Niyo's chakra because she was the one person who was not in sight. On a normal scale, it was not there but when I intensified my search, I found a weak source of it and that had me worried. I glanced in the general direction of it and found the old lady and Niyo, the only two people unconscious and being the focus of the medic team. The old lady was bleeding from a wound on her shoulder and Niyo looked pretty beaten up, bruised and burnt, not to mention, pale. I had sent the team to scour the entire area of any possible threats. When I tuned my ears to the various voices around me, I found the women talking among themselves in whispers.

"For her to use ninjutsu...."

"Niyo used it?"

"What do you mean by that? What happened here?" I asked one of the women nearby. She glanced at her friend, I suppose, before answering.

"Before...the blast, Niyo-san warned us about it...to get away....and we were...we were all running when..." She burst into tears. I wanted to roll my eyes but these women must be scarred after witnessing such a thing.

"Niyo-sama doesn't use ninjutsu, it's draining for me, but she had to use it now, to secure us all from the blast." I turned to look at the young girl who passed that information.

"How did it happen, do you know?"

"Shizuka-chan exploded... I think...I just saw Niyo-sama distancing herself from Morio-baa...with Shizuka-chan in her arms..." She rubbed her head. Clearly this girl was in shock from the event. Her eyes said it all.

"Sir!"

The guards arrived with a full report that there weren't any potential threats and any clues whatsoever as to how and why this happened. After doubling security here in the forest, I left to inform anija. We would only get the answers when either of the two women would wake up and after being told the extent of damage they both had sustained, it would be quite a while before they gain consciousness.

"Tobirama, you should get to the hospital. I can control things here." Mito-san said when I paced the ground in front of her. She was sent to stabilize the situation in the forest, since the women refused to trust the men. I was sent as well to make sure that she was safe but anija told me to be at the hospital when there was control and order.

Why to the hospital?

The old lady's and Niyo's condition had worsened overnight, so in order to provide them with the best treatment, they were shifted to the village. Anija had treated them both as much as he could in the time he got from his duties which were piling on and on after the explosion yesterday, but there was still some damage left that he hadn't the energy to heal.

"Then I shall take my leave. You can order one of the guards to call me when you need." I informed and after bowing, I left for the Konoha hospital.

When I reached there, I relieved a few of the men I had placed to guard the premises and went to the ward both the women were in. the medic there informed me about the progress in Niyo's condition and shook his head for any change in the old lady's. Sure enough, according to his report, Niyo's chakra was stronger than before and it was just a matter of time that she opened her eyes.
