Chapter 35

Killian's POV

A few days ago Emma had kissed me and I had kissed back though we havent mentioned it. Mainly because Lily has been around me all the time. Emma had told her that we were having a baby together and that we would all live together. Lily really likes the idea so much that she doesnt ever really leave my side and when it comes to her bed time Emma is already asleep.

"So hows its going? You know with the baby, Emma, Lily. How is all that?" David asks.

"Well we are finding a place to live and a few days ago Emma kissed me and we havent spoken about it since." I say.

"Its thats what you guys did when you slept together. Never brought it up until Emma got pregnant." He says.

"Well yeah, but its not like that this time. I want to talk to her about it and figure out what it means, but Lily and her attachment to me has made it hard to talk to Emma about it." I say.

"Well wait till the little goober is asleep." He says.

"Well yeah, but Emma is already asleep when I go to talk to her." I say.

"Well how about during work. While the two of you are in a car patrolling the town." He says.

I looked at the door and Emma was standing by the car outside and I decided to go and talk to her.

"Hey love ready?" I ask.

"Yeah lets go." Emma says.

We got into the car and Emma was just looking at the window. I just wanted to know what she was thinking.

"Hey love. I really dont like the idea of you working while pregnant." I say.

"Okay." She says.

She didnt fight me on it like she usually does when I say stuff she doesnt like. Something was really bothering her.

"Love are you okay? I mean you seem alittle off." I say.

"Im fine." She says.

"Emma about that kiss a few days ago. I think we should talk about it." I say.

"Why so you could say it should never happen again. Cause I really dont want to hear it." She says.

"Okay are you mad at me or something? Cause if I recall you kissed me." I say.

"Fine I kissed you and you have said nothing about it until now. So tell me who should be mad at who." She says.

"Okay. I havent brought it up not because I didnt want to, but because Lily has been around alot and I didnt think her knowing about that would be good. I dont want to get her hopes up on something that clearly will never happen." I say.

"So thats it you just think that I dont want anything to happen between us?" She questions.

"Well other then having this baby together. Do you want something to happen between us?" I ask.

"I dont know. Maybe, but... What if it doesnt work out? We will crush our child and Lily. I dont know if that a chance Im willing to take." She says.

"Look how about we treat this like we are treating your pregnancy." I say.

"What do you mean?" She asks.

"One day at a time love. We just slowly ease into I dont know a relationship and we dont tell anyone. That way if it doesnt work Lily and our child wont get hurt." I say.

"I guess that could work, but I mean only if you want to." She says.

"Emma I dont know what will happen between us, but I do know that for a long time I've had strong feelings for you. Now I want to try this the only question is do you?" I ask.

"I would answer that by kissing you, but we could crash. So yeah thats what I want and have for a while now." She says.

I looked at her for a moment and she smiled at me. I looked back at the road and grabbed Emma's hand. I have a feeling that things will only get better. Emma and I clearly have wanted each other for awhile and thanks to the baby we have a chance to be together and I know we both couldnt be happier.
