darkness is consumption for our faults.
like a hug, it surrounds us, but it's the most uncomfortable hug nobody wants.
deaths in the world that didn't need to be, the innocence of others is what leaves.
darkness hugs tighter.
we feel unsafe, people shout and yell and fire their flames; more innocence leaves the world.
darkness hugs tighter.
we cry for safety, but not to be trapped. we don't want to have to follow certain restrictions, that isn't what safety is.
darkness squeezes tighter.
threats hit and spit like wind and rain in a hurricane. we tell our truths, but none believe; our safety is "better" as elders lead.
darkness squeezes tighter.
we feel even more alone when we speak, assumptions are thrown and weapons fire.
darkness suffocates tighter.
soon it'll be orange skies and crooked lies. wind a deadpan and music extinct.
darkness suffocates.
