Anne and Emily waited by the door for an extended period of time. Even though they were told to leave, the two just couldn't leave after what had happened. Alix and Rocky's silent sniffling could still be heard from the outside, but there was nothing that could be done at this point.
"That's it! I've had it with Jordan! She's going to pay!" Emily shouted, standing back up with tears forming in her eyes. Anne reached out to her and pulled her back down to make sure that she got her attention.
"Emily, calm down! We can't just go after her now! Plus, who knows how many supporters she has with her. If we go against her, we may all be hurt in the process. I don't want you to get hurt!" She pleaded with Emily. Her face softened into a smile as she looked directly at Anne.
"...Whatever then... We still need to do something to get them to forgive us..." Anne nodded in agreement, knocking on the door once again. It unexpectedly swung open, barely missing both Anne and Emily. This time, it was Alix who got up and answered the door. He had a few cloth bandages covering certain areas of his face and arms. His eyes traveled from the floor all the way up until Alix had met Emily and Anne's gazes.
"Hey... guys..." Alix choked out with a forced smile. "What brings you here?... Why do you look so upset?" Emily sniffled a few times, soon crying uncontrollably.
"It's all my fault that this happened! If... If... If I didn't agree to Rocky's terms, then neither of you would've been hurt! I'm so sorry!"She sobbed, wiping away the tears as fast as she could. Anne reached out to comfort Anne, but was turned away from by Emily. "I know you want to help me Anne... This time though, there is nothing that can make me think otherwise... I'm so weak... You're always protecting me... I'm sorry..." Alix was unsure how else to react besides kneeling down to give Emily a hug. The two stayed like that for a few seconds before releasing each other, exchanging silent eye movements.
"Emily, you really don't need to beat yourself up over this! You couldn't have known this would happen, so it's not like it's your fault specifically. Plus, I'm happy you did talk to Rocky because we... got back together again..." He blushed, shifting gaze back into the room where Rocky was laying on a couch inside. Alix giggled softly, lending a hand to both Emily and Anne for them to join him inside the room with the rest of them.
As soon as Emily walked in, Taylor responded with a few nervous glances. She jumped out of her seat next to where Rocky was laying and calmly walked to Emily with a saddened expression.
"I'm sorry for blowing up at you like that... It was totally uncalled for and pathetic... I just... Hate to see friends get hurt, and I'm sure you already know how I can get since you have witnessed that before..." She mumbled, rubbing at her eyes that had formed a few tear drops. "I'm so sorry for getting upset at you..." Taylor trailed off, heading in the direction of Jane who was seated near the front door.
"It's ok Taylor... Shhhh... You didn't do anything wrong..." Jane said, looking down at her with understanding.
"Jane's right. You're not wrong about what you said though... I'll try to be more careful and considerate of you guys, it's just that I... got scared when Connie called me..." Emily sighed. "I know that if my parents or a relative showed up after all these years to come get me, I would probably send them off and tell them that I prefer to stay with the kids. They need me there with them..." Anne chuckled lightly, rubbing Emily's back lightly.
"That does sound like something you would do!" Anne exclaimed, leaning down to peck her on the cheek. "Just remember that I'll help you out with whatever you need me to." Emily nodded, searching for Anne's hand on her back to squeeze it for reassurance.
"Oh the love, it burns!" Rocky hissed behind them. She sat up with a soft giggle before radiating from what seemed to be happiness. "Well, now that I got Alix by my side, we can compete to see who is the best power couple!" She joked, holding her hand up to the few scratch marks on her face. Alix made a slight squeaking sound before jolting his head down to face the ground.
"Power couple... huh?" He whispered to himself. Jane plopped Taylor down onto her lap before sighing loudly to get everyone's attention.
"Oh well! It looks like there is already a winner!" She shouted, motioning from herself to Taylor multiple times. Anne grumbled, not ready to admit defeat. She bent over to literally sweep Emily off her feet by holding onto her "princess style".
"H... Hey! What are you doing, Anne?!" Emily screamed, holding on for dear life. She threw her arms around Anne to gain stability before Anne chuckled quite obviously.
"Oh nothing... Just proving that we are the best couple!" Anne sang. Emily dropped her head onto Anne's shoulder to hide her face that was fully flushed from embarrassment.
"Gosh... I know that you don't really find this to be all that, but I am wearing a skirt if you hadn't realized..." Emily sighed, gesturing to the medium length shirt that she had put on. Anne noticed her hands were nearly to the opening of the skirt, so she gently let Emily back down before covering her own face from not noticing something so noticeable.
"Sorry... I just... I mean... Sorry!" She stuttered, trying to find the right words to say, but instead ended up spouting nonsense. Her face lit up brightly from both joy and anxiousness, and Anne kept Emily close to her by locking arms.
"It's fine, I forgive you... Just... Watch out at least to what I'm wearing..." Emily muttered, brushing down her skirt with shaking hands. Jane's mouth dropped before she sarcastically applauded the two.
"Ah, yes, way to show of you two. Just so much love is oozing out of you both. Why can't you let us stand a chance sometime, huh?" Jane pouted, wrapping her arms across Taylor who was still seated on her lap.
"Oh shush! It's not like they planned all this out." Taylor intervened before tilted her head to think further. "You didn't, did you?" She questioned. Anne and Emily both shook their head in response, still in somewhat of a shock at their little stunt. Taylor smirked, turning back to Jane with her "I told you so" look...
