Connie rushed out to meet the group of friends right in front of the door. Her eyes darted back and forth to multiple different bruises that had begun to show up on Taylor's skin. Immediately, Connie dashed back into her room and pulled out a medical kit and gestured Taylor to a seat. She pulled out some pain reliever and bandages for the few cuts that Taylor actually had and then moved onto Jane who was looking quite pale.
"Emily can you fetch me an ice pack? They should be in the freezer as long as Jamie didn't take them out." She said, glancing over at a small child in the room. Emily nodded in return and headed into the kitchen to grab the ice pack before returning. When she got back, Taylor had a few tears falling down her cheeks with soft sniffles to follow. Everyone looked at her as if she had gone crazy, but Taylor turned to them with a slight smile that was holding back the pain.
"I'm just glad that she didn't hurt Jane any more than she did! If anyone should get beat up, it's me!" Jane's face dropped, meandering towards Taylor with little motivation. She dropped to her knees, placing her head onto Taylor's knees.
"You can be such an idiot! It was my fault that the whole fight started! Aren't you angry at me? How can you be so worried about me and not yourself? I don't want to see you get hurt, Taylor!" Jane cried out into Taylor's pants. She shrugged in return as she lifted an arm up to brush against a small cut on her lower lip.
"I knew you were going to say something snarky like that so don't be too mad at me. If anything I think you helped by getting us to fight. Maybe she'll think twice now before trying to gang up on us. Emphasis on maybe..." Taylor chuckled lightly. Connie finished patching Taylor up and then moved onto Jane with a worried look.
"How much does it hurt? Would it be safe for me to touch the area around your abdomen?" Jane grimaced at the thought and quickly shook her head. Connie sighed and stepped forward a little closer before lifting up Jane's shirt. Once it was high enough, Connie and the rest if them saw a large bruise right in the lower right area near on her abdomen. Connie then proceeded to place a hand lightly on the surface and immediately hurried over to Emily to snatch her phone.
"We need to get her to a hospital. Now. There's no time to explain so please wait while I speak to the 911 operator." Connie demanded, dialing 911 as she spoke to the group. They all looked over to Jane who was equally confused and worried as they were. The six of them waited calmly for Connie to hang up the phone with the operator. When she was finally done Connie had an exhausted expression, but quickly turned back to Jane.
"Don't take my word for it, but you may have a severe issue on your hands. Have you felt nauseated or felt pressure anywhere?" Connie asked, handing a small ice pack to Jane. Everyone waited for her to answer the question and she soon did.
"I have been feeling queasy for a while... Besides that, it feels like my chest is sort of tightened up and my abdomen is sore to the touch. I can't think straight at all either... Is it bad if I feel a little dizzy? What's wrong with me? Is it really that bad?" Jane's face dropped as the seriousness of the situation grew. Connie looked away not wanting to answer her. The room was silent until finally Connie had spoken up.
"Don't be too alarmed, but you may have some... ummm... problems going on internally..." Connie trailed off. Jane took the ice pack and slammed it to the frowned clearly upset by her response.
"No shit! Why don't you tell me what's wrong?" Jane shouted. Connie picked the ice pack back up and put it directly on Jane's bruise, causing her to wince and groan in pain. Jane looked up at Connie who seemed to be towering above her before she settled down and cleared her throat.
"You may or may not be bleeding internally, so if I were you I would sit still and take some deep breaths until the paramedics get here to take a closer look at you." Connie commanded, shifting her gaze to Taylor. Jane's eyes grew large as soon as Connie had told her what was going on and, before Jane herself could get upset, it was Taylor who took her place.
"Are you fucking kidding me? I'm going to beat that bitch next time I see her! I can't believe this!" Taylor screamed, standing up in her seat. Connue went back over to her and sat her back down before staring Taylor down.
"You're not any better than her! Sit down and be quiet before I make you!" Connie yelled back. The whole room went silent again until Anne turned to Emily with a concerned look.
"You know, Connie's acting a little different than usual... She's not as... fragile as she usually seems to be..." Emily giggled lightly in an attempt to lighten the mood.
"She's more defensive and assertive than me actually, so I'm sort of used to this from her... Just be glad you weren't here when I broke my arm a few years back... Now that was a mess." Emily joked, reaching out for Anne's hand to hold. Once the paramedics came to take Taylor and Jane away, the rest of the group stayed behind at the orphanage until they were sure that they could go and visit the two. There wasn't much else to talk about after the situation that had just unfolded in front of them, so Emily and the other three went back to their dorms to wait and see if Taylor or Jane would call them. After waiting for over three hours for the fated phone call, all four of them decided to go ahead and visit the hospital to see how they were.
Once the group reached the hospital they all went right towards the front desk to ask for Taylor and Jane's rooms. Within a matter of minutes, Emily and Anne had headed on over to Taylor's room while Alix and Rocky went to visit Jane. Emily knocked on Taylor's door, but was met with silence. The two entered anyways and were met with a sleeping Taylor. Rather then wake her up, Emily and Anne went on over to Jane's room with Alix and Rocky. When Emily and Anne got to Jane's room, Alix and Rocky gave them a concerned gaze.
"What's wrong you two?" Anne asked them. Rocky pointed to a sign that was hanging over Jane's door that said that Jane was undergoing surgery.
"Why didn't the person at the front desk tell us? What's wrong with Jane?" Emily questioned the group, hoping that they knew more than her. The four went back to Taylor's room, praying that she was now awake so they could question her as to what happened in the ambulance...
