"I have to find them... I have to find Anne... I just have to!" Emily began to sob, sinking down the edge of the bed before finally slipping onto the floor. Riley went to reach for her, but George cut her off and instead picked Emily back up as gently as possible.
"You're annoying, you know? Ugh! I'll come with you to find your little friends then... Where would they be?" George questioned her, tapping his fingers against the bed rapidly. Emily curled up and kept silent for a few moments before standing back up to head to the exit. "Hey! Where're you going?" George called after her. Riley tugged onto the bottom of Emily's shirt with a half smile, attempting to pull her back to them.
"Don't mind him too much! Georgie's actually a huggggge softie! I can vouch for him." She giggled, clearing her throat soon after while keeping her grasp firm on Emily's shirt. George puckered his lips and snarled at Riley who in turn let out a slight sigh, muttering a quiet insult to him which somehow managed to shut him up. "See? He's a good guy... Well, sometimes..." She snickered. George opened his mouth to speak, but Riley threw her free hand up and pressed it firmly to her lips as a way to keep him quiet again. Emily kept her mouth shut, but smiled back at them before jerking her shirt out of Riley's hand.
"Look, it's not that I don't like you guys, but this is my problem. I don't want to drag you around all day. I'm leaving and that is it. I have to find Anne, my girlfriend, so kindly back off. I hate to be rude, but again I don't want to be dragging you around. Goodbye!" Emily whispered to them, hurrying out the door to go to every place where Anne and the rest may be.
Emily went to the orphanage, to Anne's house, and back to the dorms before collapsing on the ground with a face that gave off a pure sense of worry and confusion.
"Where could she be? I looked everywhere! There's nowhere else that they could be... Except... Could they be there? I have no idea where she lives though! Wait... Maybe Taylor would know... She has to!" Emily argued with herself for a few moments before running up to Taylor and Jane's dorm room to knock on it. There was no sound coming from within, so Emily decided to let herself in after twisting the knob to check if it was even locked. "Taylor! It's Emily! Hey, I need you to—"
*Crash*
Sounds of items crashing and falling, or rather being thrown, resounded through the small room, immediately catching Emily's attention. She continued to call out for Taylor, but to no avail. Only seconds later, Emily opened up the door to the bathroom to find Taylor amidst broken glass. Her face was covered by her hands, but Emily could tell that she was crying.
"T... Taylor... What's wrong? Are you hurt? Here, give me a minute to—"
"Just stay there! Don't come near me!" Taylor cried out, sniffling softly whilst rubbing her eyes.
"If this is about Jane, then don't worry! We will find them soon! I'm sure that—"
"This has nothing to do with Jane!... It has to do with you..." She choked out. Emily stepped over the broken glass, holding out a hand for Taylor to grab onto. Taylor began to reach for Emily's hand, but soon stopped herself and turned away once again. "Can you just... leave for a moment? I'll be out in a little bit to talk to you... I have to talk to you..." Taylor mumbled, pushing Emily out of the bathroom before shutting the door quickly in her face.
"Taylor! Open the door! What's wrong?" Emily called out to her, but headed nothing in return besides Taylor's silent weeping. Emily raised her hand back up to knock on the door again. Just when she was about to do it, Emily heard footsteps from behind her which caught her attention. It was both Jane and Anne. "Where have you two been? I was worried when i tried to go to school today only to find out thay neither of you have gone either!" She shouted, stomping over to where Anne was standing. The two of them shot glances at each and said nothing to Emily. Finally, Anne stepped towards Emily and hugged her before saying anything.
"I'm sorry... We thought that you two should be left alone for a while after... after that happened... We've been staying over at Rocky's place this whole time." Anne said. Jane then reached out to grab onto Emily's shoulder with a concerned look.
"What's... What's wrong with Taylor?" She asked. Emily shook her head and slightly shrugged.
"I have no idea... She was... acting really weird this morning before I left, but beyond that I don't know..." Emily replied, looking back towards the bathroom door. Jane glared back at Emily, twitching a little but.
"She was acting weird? How weird? Did you... say or do something to her?" Jane questioned Emily. She shook her head in response, turning to the bathroom door.
"No... No I didn't say anything really... We were just... talking..." Emily muttered. Jane squinted, rushing past Emily to jerk the bathroom door open. Jane came back a few seconds later with Taylor right behind her. Jane tapped her foot against the floor, waiting for either Emily or Taylor to say something. "Taylor," Emily began, "what's wrong? Why won't you tell me? I'm worried about you... Jane's worried about you... We're all worried about you!" Taylor rubbed her arm without saying anything, but looked to Jane and then Anne with a concerned gaze.
"Can I speak to Emily first? Alone? I'll tell you two afterwards, I promise..." Taylor said, tugging on Emily's shirt. Jane and Jane hesitated, but left the room and went out into the hallways to wait.
"What's wrong? Why are you so—"
As Emily began to speak, Taylor closed distance between them and pressed her lips firmly against Emily's whilst narrowing her eyebrows to show how sorry she was for doing it. Taylor then quickly backed away, but then leaned in to whisper in Emily's ear.
"I just can't lie to myself anymore, and I'm so sorry Emily, but I still like you after all this time and after all I put you through. I'm sorry... I'm so so sorry..." Taylor said, dropping her head onto Emily's shoulder. Emily remained silent, but once she finally snapped out of it all she could say was two words...
"Taylor, why?"
