Not long after the group arrived to the parade, others soon came and started chatting it up with anyone and everyone. People gathered around Emily's group, exchanging curious looks, and began to talk to them. After a few moments, Anne had a short, but brutish woman approach her and she began to whisper into her ear without Emily's knowledge. When the woman left, Anne grabbed Emily and pulled her to the side near the fences.
"What's wrong Anne? Are you feeling sick or something?" Emily asked. Anne shook her head and replied to Emily's concern with a long sigh.
"I don't know if I can do this, Emily. This is a little too much for me..." Anne said, rubbing her head lightly. Emily smiled and leaned against the fence and placed her hand onto Anne's head.
"Look, if anyone is bothering you Anne, I want you to tell me what's wrong. That's what I'm here for and I need to repay you for what yup did for me in the past." Anne lifted her head up slowly and put it onto Emily's shoulder.
"Ok, I will Emily," Anne said with a smile, "we have time before the parade begins so can I take you somewhere?" Anne asked. Emily looked at Anne in confusion, but agreed nonetheless. Anne guided her over the fence and down the street to a nearby shopping center. Inside the center was a large selection of items, food, and even a pet center. There, Anne led Emily to the pet center and bent down to look at the animals. "I remember how you told me that you wanted an animal so I thought why not look around while we're here." Anne said, petting each and every animal in sight. There was a large selection of cats, dogs, fish, reptiles, gerbils, and more at the store. Emily began to look at the dogs when she stopped at the sight at one of the puppies there. It was a beautiful all white husky. The only problem with it was that the puppy was missing it's front right leg. Emily smiled at the puppy anyways and picked it up gently to hold it.
"Would it be bad if I asked you something a little much?" Emily asked. Anne shook her head and grinned with a slight smirk. "I want this puppy. I have money so if we just get it a carrier we could fly it back home with us and have your parents help us care for him until we move into the apartment." Anne came over and rubbed the dog's belly and it barked in love for the affection. The two quickly headed to grab the necessities such as food, bowls, a leash, a collar, and more things before they bought the dog and left. The puppy was happy to be free of the store and jumped around everywhere before Anne picked it back up.
"The shopkeeper said that the puppy is a boy so what do you want to name him, Emily?" Anne asked. Emily thought for a moment and sighed.
"Ummm... Tundra? Vanilla, Lumi? Lumi! We'll call him Lumi! It means snow in Estonian and could be short for Luminous too! It fits him right?" Emily asked, taking the puppy from Anne.
"That works for me. I can't wait to bring him back home... we'll have to either make him a leg or buy him one when we get back though before anything." The two carried on until they made it back to the parade sight. When they reached their friends, Rocky immediately ran over to pick up the dog.
"Oh my God! This is one of the cutest dogs I have ever seen! It's so fluffy!" She yelled excitedly, spinning in circles with the dogs in her arms. Jane and Taylor then walked over and giggled.
"So, you did end up buying it for her huh, Anne?" Taylor asked with a wide, devilish smirk. Emily looked over to Anne with a confused gaze, but was interrupted by the sound of a speaker turning on. A man announced the beginning of the parade and so Emily grabbed Anne and Lumi to get closer to the rest of the club members. There were many different people there of all shapes, sizes, ethnicities, and more spread out everywhere. Anne was initially taken back but was soon calmed down by Emily's smiling face.
"I'm glad we decided to come here, Anne. I was hoping to spend some time together outside rather than in our rooms like we usually do..." Emily said, placing Lumi onto the ground to walk around a bit. Anne grinned and looked at Emily lovingly.
"I'm glad too. It's both of our first time being to something like this so we should enjoy it while we can." Anne said, grabbing a hold of Emily's hand gently. The two walked hand in hand the whole parade and even spoke to other parade members. After it ended, the group explored downtown and everything the city had to offer before they left to go back home with their new companion in hand.
