AN: The title says angst but it's really fluff.

John Laurens was sick.

John Laurens could hardly stand, he felt so drained.

But he was gonna tough it out and go to class, because he was a strong little turtle.

The above sentence was a lie.

Alex knocked gently on John's door. John was always awake by now, especially since he had classes this morning. "John? Are you okay?"

John groaned softly, then managed a small, "Yeah, I'm good,"

Alex pushed the door open, looking unimpressed when he saw John sprawled out under the comforter. "John, I'm serious,"

"I'm not going to school today, just chill and let me be,"

"Are you sick?"

"..."

"You're sick. I thought we made a promise, John,"

John rolled over so he was staring at the ceiling. "I said we would take care of each other if we were sick. I'm not sick, so you go to class,"

"You're soooo sick. Do you have a fever?"

John groaned again.

"Aw, don't be like that, babe~" Something flickered in Alex's eyes.

"W-What?"

Alex sat next to him, smirking mischievously. He brushed his hand lightly over John's cheek. "You wanna tell me why you won't admit you're sick?"

John blushed hard. "I-I can't have you worrying, can I?"

"It's my job to care, Johnny~"

"Alex, what're you doing right now?"

Alex drew back and looked down at him fondly. "I was thinking that if I was sick too, I could stay here and take care of you,"

John gulped. "And?"

Alex leaned closer (in the backseat of your rover) so their lips were almost touching. "You wanna help me?"

John wanted to say no, but he was compelled by the lack of distance between himself and his crush. He closed the minimal gap and wrapped his arms around Alex's shoulders as Alex did the same. They held it there for a few elongated moments, then broke away, panting slightly.

"Alex..."

"Yeah?"

"Are you drunk or something?"

"No, I really like you. Want to go out?"

"I'm sick,"

"Not today, dummy,"

"Oh, then, yeah. Can we kiss some more between now and then?"

Alex rolled his eyes and kissed John again, this time pulling away faster. "Now I know you have a fever, and you can't escape me,"

Alex stood up and jogged to the kitchen, where he got a wet cloth and some Advil. Walking back in, he set it on the bedside table and laid in bed next to John.

Alex ran his fingers through John's curly hair. "So what should we do on our date, Johnny?"

John hummed softly. "We could get coffee,"

"We have done that since we met each other,"

"How long have we been dating before this?"

"Since we met, I guess," Alex laughed, then coughed.

John poked him in the side. "Now who the hell goes and makes out with a sick person?"

"Someone who doesn't mind being sick?"

"You absolutely suck at being sick,"

"Shut up,"

"It's true,"

"You're true,"

"That doesn't make sense,"

Alex glared playfully, and John chuckled.

"I wish you hadn't got yourself sick,"

"You're lying,"

"How do you know?"

"You're six times cuter when you lie,"

John smiled and curled into his side, falling asleep with Alex's hand running through his hair.
