AN: aw yisssss 2K reads. Thank you my subjects.

John woke early and stretched. Alexander was lying across the room, having fallen from his bed in the night, and his soft snores could be heard from a distance. John smiled to himself.

Then he threw a hardback book at Alex's sleeping form.

"Why must you do this every morning?" Alex groaned and pushed the book off his chest.

"It's a cute couple thing,"

"It is not," Alex heaved a sigh and rolled to his feet. "What are you waking me up for anyway? It's spring break,"

"Let's do a spontaneous road trip,"

"Or we could not,"

"Please," John blinked up at Alex, who rolled his eyes.

"I don't want to go across the country by ourselves. That's kinda stupid, John,"

"Have no fear, love," John pulled his phone out of his pocket.

A few rings and Peggy's voice came through.

"Johnny, what's up?"

"Let's do a spontaneous road trip. Get everyone you can and we'll go out west to California,"

"Amen. I'll meet you in about three hours,"

"Okay,"

The phone clicked off and John smirked at Alex.

"Lexi, pack your bags,"

Alex groaned and set off towards the closet. John followed.

••Im lazy, have a free time skip••

Peggy had her arm wrapped around Angelica as she and the rest of the squad waited in the parking lot. Angelica squirmed and huffed.

"I did not agree to this,"

"Eliza and Maria are coming, you have to come too!"

"I have more important things to do,"

"Angie, you're aromantic. I don't see anybody out here that you could be doing,"

Angelica elbowed her in the side. "Peggy! You know that's not what I meant!"

Peggy grinned and spotted John and Alex trotting our the door, a suitcase pulled between them. "Hey guys! Ready to go?"

Alex and Thomas locked eyes for a long moment. Alex turned and growled to John, "Jeffershit is coming?"

John sighed dramatically. "You're not riding in the same car and you're going to get along. Or I'm not kissing you all week,"

Alex shot upright and smiled pleasantly at Jefferson. Jefferson looked suspicious but didn't object.

James tugged on Jefferson's arm. "Tom, just let him go. You have to get along for a week or two,"

"Or what? Hamilhoe might get mad at me?"

"No kissing for the entire trip if you don't get along,"

Jefferson shot upright and smiled back.

James and John shared knowing looks.

••Im still lazy, have another time skip••

John got into his car, Alex next to him and Peggy in the backseat with Lafayette and Hercules. James had a huge truck, so Angie, Eliza, Maria, Thomas and him were all in there. Most of the luggage was with them too.

Alex made sure everyone was buckled in (Alex you Mom Friend) and John set off towards the interstate. An hour into the drive, everyone had fallen back asleep.

Alex slipped his hand over John's, and John eyes him suspiciously. Alex worked his hand up John's arm until it was resting on his cheek. It was incredibly distracting for John.

"Alex, I'm driving,"

"I'm not doing anything,"

"Alex I will crash this car and I don't know how you plan to kiss me in the afterlife,"

Alex drew his hand back remorsefully.

"Better,"

"What's the point of being alone in the car if we can't kiss?" he whined.

"We can kiss when we get to California,"

"John," Alex regarded him seriously. "That is three days away,"

"Yep," John smirked. "I doubt you'll be able to last that long,"

Alex's expression hardened and he checked the cars mirrors. "John, pull over, I think the trunk isn't shut,"

John pursed his lips and pulled the car to a halt. Alex got out and went towards the back of the car, but then walked back around the other side. He opened John's door and pulled the smaller man out of the car, leaning him against the back door as he kissed him roughly. John was tempted to roll his eyes at first, but then decided that California was in fact a long way away.

That was the reason that Thomas found them kissing on the side of the highway with an unconscious trio in the backseat.

"Get back in the car! We didn't drive out here to make out!"

Alex pulled back briefly. "That's what you think, but I didn't want to come in the first place!"

Angelica waved at them and motioned to Maria. "And here, Maria, we see a wild gay man participating in a complicated dance with a more domesticated gay. This can be difficult, but clearly not for these two, as shame is not in their vocabularies,"

Thomas stuck his head out the car window. "We're trying to get to California! That mess can wait til we find a damn hotel!"

Alex sighed and pulled back reluctantly, John whimpering from the lack of contact. "Aw, hush, Peaches, we have to continue your spontaneous trip,"

John pouted and glared but got back into the car anyways.

Thomas started to drive off, but John and Alex could hear strings of curses in English and French, accompanied by James' desperate consolation. Alex smirked. "Well, that was fun,"

The trio in the backseat had woken up and Lafayette was holding his phone at a peculiar angle. Alex watched it for a moment, then noticed Lafayette's subtle smile and lunged for the device.

"Give me the damn phone!"

"Never!"

"Why the hell did you film us?!"

"I need to replenish my stocks of blackmail!"

John started driving, ignoring the people who were arguing over his shoulder.

AN: I had so much fun writing this that there might be like three parts instead of two. I love this road trip thing. Tell me whatcha think, love,
