AN: I have no idea where this is going so buckle up cause it's about to get reallllll crazy.

John peeked through the door into his apartment and looked for Alex. He was surely home by now, so John called out, "Alex! You home, babe?"

"Yeah, I'm in the bedroom! Hi, hon!"

John smiled and eased the door open the rest of the way so he was standing halfway in the room. "I brought us a new friend!"

Alex laughed and stepped into the living room. "Another turtle, love?"

"Nope," John's grin got wider. "It's a dog!"

The massive dog nosed through the door and froze when it caught sight of Alex. It looked back and forth between John and Alex, then decided that Alex was trustworthy and sat down at John's side.

Alex almost dropped his coffee. "John!"

John's smile flickered slightly. "Yeah?"

"That's not a dog, that's a fucking wolf! Where'd you get that thing?!"

"I got him at the shelter down the street,"

Alex leaned back on the counter nervously, his eyes never leaving the wolf. "What do we do with it?"

"His name is Lazer, and we have to keep him. The shelter workers said that I was the only person that he didn't act aggressive towards, in like, forever, and he seems like he likes you,"

"John, we live in an apartment, we cannot house a wolf,"

"He's only part wolf, he has blue eyes. We can hope that he's mostly dog and doesn't give into the urges,"

"The urges?!"

John blushed slightly. "He's only six months old, so we can be his alpha figures. Then we can train him to do whatever we want and he'll respect us,"

(This isn't exactly how wolf dogs work, guys, if you're going to adopt one you need to think long and hard. It's not easy, and you probably shouldn't have one under normal circumstances.)

"I'm only agreeing to this until he hurts someone. If anyone gets bitten, he's out,"

Lazer seemed to perk up. John met his eyes briefly before responding. "Deal. Can you get the dog food out of the cabinet? I got it earlier this week,"

Alex sighed deeply and poured some food for his new 'dog'. John was lucky that he was head over heels, because that dog would be on the street in an instant.

John dropped Lazer's leash and wrapped his arms around Alex's waist from behind, leaning his head on the taller man's shoulder. He bit his neck ever so softly. "Thanks for letting him stay, Lexi,"

Alex drew a sharp breath at John's contact. "Yeah, you owe me,"

"I know," John whispered as he picked up the leash again. "You should pet him, get him used to you,"

Alex extended his hand and Lazer leaned into it promptly. He got used to the feeling of Alex against him, then the man pulled away. He looked sideways at John. "Can I have my payment now?"

John gripped Alex's hips and placed kisses up and down his jaw. Alex leaned back so John was further pressed against him, then slipped his arms over John's waist. John moaned lightly into Alex's neck, and Alex flinched from the vibration.

(OH SO THIS IS WHERE IT WAS GOING!!!! DO I CONTINUE?!?!?)

John tensed and almost pulled away, but Alex held him close.

"It's not you, Johnny,"

"I'm not doing anything unless your heart is in it, even if I'm not the source of the bad memories,"

Alex looked down at him, staring deep into his eyes before kissing him deeply. "You're a gift. If you'll give a piece of yourself, I'm not passing that up," his voice was sort of breathless.

John's face flushed. "I'm sorry about the do—wolf,"

"That's okay, I'm sure it'll be fine,"

"You seem like you calm down whenever we're touching, what's up with that?"

Alex gave him a light squeeze. "I have to stop stressing so I can experience the artwork,"

They fell back into their kissing routine, with Alex pulling John over to the couch and into his lap.

"Love you, Johnny~"

"Love you too, Lex~"
