Inyeong’s POV
“Arf! Arf!” Mocha runs to my direction. With her tongue sticking out, her excitement becomes evident all over her face. She jumps on me thus making the fall harder. “Arf! Arf!”
“That tickles!” I protest while she goes on licking my face. “Mocha..!”
From the stairs, Mother and Father approach us with bright smiling looks. They “aw” at us, together. “Such a sight to see,” Mother said. “Our little one missed its owner so much these passed weeks. You should have prepared yourself for her surprises.”
“I can see that.”
To my relief, Father finally grabs me by the hand and aids me in getting up.
Our family dog sounds to be complaining with her whimpers. But a pet on the head instantly lifts her foul mood. An energetic bark echoes in the whole café.
“The weather is looking great today,” Father’s words makes me shift my gaze outside. “Why not take Mocha out for a walk? The park is only a number of miles away. You can have your bonding time there. It has been a while too. That would be for the best for the both of you.”
“For real? We could??”
My parents assure their permission.
My hand releases the Frisbee into the air, “Go get it!” At my signal, Mocha locks in her eyes to the flying object and chases for it. A strong leap with secured bite, she successfully catches the target. She turns then makes her way, sprinting, to my direction. I gently pet her head to congratulate her, “Good girl.”
I make her comfortably sit next to me.
I quietly scan the area, once again, to see if anyone else is present. One odd thing I’ve noticed today is the absence of people in the park. The weather is great for a day in the park so it’s making me wonder why people wouldn’t be swarming here. It’s a little suspicious this way.
Yet! Instead of deserting the place and taking the situation negatively, we took it as an advantage. It’s alone time for Mocha and I.
Has it been a week or two? The raining of threat letters stopped after three days Yumi and Jongwoon helped me in my silent depression. Those two gave me the support I needed. No word can express how overwhelming my gratitude for them is. And thanks to them, I slowly learned to be stronger. My best friend’s words of encouragement and “wisdom” were absorbed into my brain and heart. While my friend was a bit rough with words, I know he meant well.
Yes, my work began again. The support I got from those two also did help me in focusing on the job on hand and forgetting the bloody letters.
Of course, I cannot blame my family for not knowing or sensing my condition. We kept it from them. I don’t feel bad that they weren’t there in my times of need. As much as we still can, I want to really never tell them anything.
My hazel eyes look at my pet. Everything is going fine.
Out of nowhere, a pair of hands cover my sight. "Hey!" I struggle to remove the hands but the owner is strong and they won't move an inch.
These are male hands! I mentally exclaimed. Who would--
"Boo!" his face appears upside down "Scared you, didn't I?"
He pulls back his head before I could yell his name, "Donghae!"
"With company," from the side, the idol's best friend Eunhyuk walks with both hands in his pants' pockets. Trying to look cool I guess. "Hi."
