"This is Luca. I'm not here right now, but if you leave me a message I'll be sure to get back to you."

"Are you freakin' kidding me?" I asked in annoyance mashing the end call button. It's been two months since the confrontation with Luca and ever since then I haven't been able to reach him. Not that I didn't expect this to happen. After seeing the hurt and anger in his eyes that day, I knew that nothing between us was gonna be like it was before.

"Are you really asking yourself that question right now?" Saraj asked taking a sip of her freshly blended kiwi and strawberry smoothie.

I flicked a strand of hair out of my face as I gave her the side eye. With fall now officially in effect, we had decided to meet up and have a lunch meeting. Deciding on soups and hot sandwiches, due to a recent cold front hitting the area, we both felt like it would be a good choice. We went to Tiny's Giant Sandwich Shop a place that had recently popped up and was halfway between both our houses. I had read a couple of really good Yelp reviews for their food and thought why not?

"Yes I am."

"Girl... this man found out that you, the love of his life that he's spent five years with, was not just cheating on him but was in love with his own daddy. I'm surprised his ass didn't try and swing on him."

"Actually he did." I murmured between a bite of grilled chicken sandwich.

Saraj didn't say anything, but I noticed the slight twinkle of amusement in her eyes as she took another sip of her smoothie.

"I know you're loving every minute of this damn drama that's my life."

"It's not that I'm loving it. I mean it is the kind of messy I live to watch," she cleared her throat seeing the slight annoyance on my face, "but you are my bestie so you know I gotta support you. Even though I did tell you so months ago."

I groaned putting my head in my hands. "You don't think I know and remember you doing that! It's already bad enough that I'm suffering as it is, you just enjoying rubbing salt in my wounds."

"Excuse me best friend. Now don't get it twisted, you and I are girls and you know I'll support you in whatever you decide and go through. But, yes I am rubbing a bit of salt in your damn wounds because this all could've been avoided from the jump. As my meditation teacher says, this is some karmic energy coming back on you."

I rolled my eyes, "yea yea...wait, when did you start doing meditation?"

"Well thank you for noticing. It's been a few months now. Probably once you and Nico decided to hell with everything and keep seeing each other. It's given me great focus and balance."

"Well good for you." I replied sarcastically.

Saraj took another sip of smoothie, "but in all seriousness. Give him some time Jaya. A lot has just been put on his lap and as he's most likely cursing you and Nico out from hell and back. He's probably taking time to come to terms with everything. If he's gonna reach out to you guys, he'll do it on his own, not when you expect him to."
