My shoulder burned like nothing I'd ever felt before.

I fell and fell and fell until my ass landed in a chair. It hurt, too.

An endless white room surrounded me. My chair was thrown forth into the table, my legs tucked neatly under it.

Two figures came into focus across the table. One with wild curls of brown hair and the other with a half shaved head. Liz and Alexa.

Another figure came into view behind Liz, tall and muscular. Brooding. It was Kenith, though he stayed behind Liz's chair.

"Hi," Liz said with a smile.

I waved with my left arm to avoid the pain in my right.

"Hey, pretty boy." Alexa's voice was disinterested, indifferent, but her eyes stayed trained on me. She stared into me.

I looked away.

"Do you know why you're here?" Liz asked. Her tone was calm and soothing.

"I don't even know where here is."

Alexa chuckled at that. I smiled, proud of myself. Her laughter was an absolute blessing.

"I'll tell you later then," Liz promised. "But you're here because you need to be."

"We're pointing out your bullshit," Alexa completed the sentence like she was meant to. "There's a lot of it."

"Alexander, what did you say to me the day we met?" Liz asked. She leaned forward on her elbows, looking into me, prying into the deepest parts of my mind.

I shrugged, averting my eyes from her invasive gaze.

"You were completely dependant on her," Alexa stated.

I winced. "I..."

"No," Liz said this with conviction. "You said what you said and it can't be undone. The point is, that's not healthy. She's tricked you, Alex."

"Get out, Alex," Alexa spoke, her voice serious and yet still stale.

It was like an interrogation. The walls started closing in, the two girls and their fierce body guard pressing ever closer.

"Alex," Alexa said. "Alex. Alex. Alex."

"What? God, what?"

"Alex, please."

"Please?" The room disappeared. I was glued to my chair as the world collapsed and consumed itself. Only Alexa remained. "Please, what?" I asked. My heartbeat was going so fast. Oxygen raced in and out of my lungs.

"Wake up!"
