Chapter 1

"Jesy? You there?" Jade asked snapping me out of my trance. "Sorry, what were you saying" I stuttered. "I asked you if Beauty and the Beast?" Jade repeated. Jade was my best friend, and we were at the movies right now. "Sure, Beauty and the Beast sounds great" I said reasuringly smiling at her. "Should we take some snacks as well?" She asked looking longingly at the popcorn. "Sure, we'll get one thing each" I said. Jade quickly rushed over to the opcorn stand and filled a large sized box with sweetened popcorn. I laughed and followed her. On the way I picked up a bag of M&M's. "Jade looked at the bag in my hand. "Seriously? You can eat M&M's everywhere! In movie theaters you have to eat popcorn" She demanded. "Oh, and since when is that a rule?" I said laughing. "It's an unspoken rule" Jade said trying to flick her hair, almost dropping the popcorn in the process. "What can I say, I'm addicted to chocolate" I shrugged. "Now let's get to the cash register, because I don't thing you'll be able to hold that box of popcorn for that much longer" I said jokingly as we walked towards the cash register. Jade thudded the box on the desk."Yes two tickets for Beauty and the Beast please " She said peeking from behind her enormous popcorn box. "Jade, are you sure you don't need a third seat for mister popcorn right here"I teased. "Hahaha, very funny Jesy" She sarcasticly said poking my arm, but she was smiling.The cinema room was relatively empty, with only a few people silently talking while the pre-movie ads were playing. "It's really too bad Perrie and Leigh-Anne couldn't come toninght. Dpn't you think?" Jade sighed."Yeah" I replied. It wasn't a complete lie, Perrie and Leigh were my best friends too, but I made a deal with them the other day. See, I actually had a crush on Jade, and they knew because I told them. Without me knowing it they had set up a great plan too pretend to make a movie night with all of us, but then cancelled themselves last minute. Only by the time I was in the movie theater they send me a text telling me that they did it on purpose. "This is you're chance to tell her" They had said. And maybe they were right, but I'm afraid to get rejected. I've tried to tell her before, but I just get so nervous. I put a handfull of M&M's i,n my mouth and closed my eyes as the delicious taste of chocolate spread trough my mouth. The movie was really good actually, I always fear that live action remakes won't be as good as the original one, in worst case they could ruin the reputation of the original. But I have to say that Disney did a good job on this one. I looked over at Jade, who was completely focused on the screen, absentmindedly stuffing herself with popcorn. Butterflies once again fluttered in my stomach. I looked over at the screen again trying to concentrate on the movie. During the last scene there was a big dance, and at one of the very last shots, Lefou started dancing with another man. and even though the shot only lasted seconds, you knew they fell in love. If Disney approved of a Gay relationship, then maybe Jade would too? Okay, tonight I'm telling her I promised myself. On the way back Jade litterally couldn't stop talking about the movie."...And did you see how good the actor of Gaston was, just as arrogant.....And did you see how the gold fell on her dress?.....It's too bad they didn't leave in the 'Ow, you look...Stupid' Moment because I loved that in the original, But the make-up replacement made up for that..." she chattered without even pausing to breathe. I remained quite for most of the trip, but I didn't mind. I loved to hear Jade talk. She has always been obsessed with Disney and everything about it. I almost forgot that I was going to tell her how I felt. Untill we arrived at my house. "Uh, Jade? There's something I need to tell you"I said quietly swallowing the lump forming in my throat. "Sure, what's up?"Jade asked confused. "I have a crush on you" I just blurted out as fast as I could. Jade looked at me confusedly as understanding crossed her face, followed by a mix of guilt and sadness."Jesy...I'm so sorry, I'm not into girls"She said looking down at the ground. I nodded, I had already prepared for that answer and I kept strong. "I already expected you'd say that. It's okay. Can we stay friends though?" I asked. Jade nodded gratefully. "We're not gonna let this get awkward between us right?" She asked. I shook my head and hugged her, before going inside. Once I shut the door I leant against it and sighed deeply. I was okay with being rejected honestly, and I couldn't wish for more than being her best friend, but it still hurt. And then I heard it, four shortly following noises I'd never forget. A honking car, Jade's scream, Schreeching breaks,....and a crash. I ran outside panicked to see what had happened. In front of me was a company truck with a scared looking man inside. And in front of the car, Jade's body.
