Chapter 12 (Edited)

Eliza POV

“You may go back now. Room 1801,” the nurse told us while scribbling something down on her clipboard.

“Thank you,” I whispered before nearly sprinting to Peggy’s hospital room. I could hear Angelica, Laf, Herc, Alex, and John chasing after me. The hospital had called Angelica and told her we could see a Peggy about ten minutes ago, so we had rushed over as soon as possible. Although, I was suspicious as to why the hospital told us before Maria did. Also, where is Maria?

"Slow down mon amie! You're going to get in trouble!" Laf called from behind me. I ignored him and only slowed down when we reached Peggy's room. As I reached out to turn the door handle, Alexander suddenly grabbed my hand and pulled it back.

"What the quiznak Alex?" I grunted. He had an excited look on his face.

"It's happening. Look," he said, pointing to the window. Deciding to obey, we all crowded by the window. What I saw next left me with the same stupid grin as Alex. We all simultaneously started to giggle.

Peggy POV

I could feel my face heat up as Maria started to kiss me back and tangle her fingers in my messy hair. I had no idea what to do with my hands, so I hung them lazily around her neck. I can't believe this is happening. Her lips are softer than I had ever imagined.

NOT THAT I SPENT TIME IMAGINING IT BECAUSE I TOTALLY DIDN'T.

Have I mentioned that she smells like peppermint and hot cocoa? And her ski-

"This is going in my scrapbook," I heard Laf whisper from the other side of the door. Maria and I froze and slowly turned our heads to look at the door. We could see everyone giggling through the tiny window. Suddenly, I started to laugh too. Maria looked at me curiously, her face still flushed crimson. I just continued to chuckle and pecked her lips.

"We'll continue this later~," I whispered in her ear.

Maria POV

Maria.exe has stopped working. Please try again later.

Peggy POV

I motioned for everyone to come in, which resulted in a flood of people falling into my room. My sisters practically threw themselves into me while Laf just cried happy tears into Herc's shoulder. Alex and John looked frantic as they tried to talk to me. Maria was just sitting on the bed with the biggest grin I've ever seen.

"I'M SO GLAD YOU'RE OKAY!" Eliza sobbed into my hospital gown. I simply hugged her and Angelica in a reassuring reply. Suddenly, I remembered something that I thought Alexander might want to know.

"Hey Alex?" I asked.

"Yeah Peggs?" he hummed while smiling down at me and tightly clutching John's hand.

"Ummmm.............god, how do I say this?" I said, more to myself than to Alex.

"What is it?" he inquired.

"Well, while I was in my coma, I was inside my conscience. And.......I wasn't alone," I trailed off. Alex raised an eyebrow, then motioned for me to continue.

"Rachel Faucette was there. Your mom was there every day. I don't know why or how, but she was. She misses you Alex," I explained sadly. Shocked, Alexander tried to say something, but his voice cracked and he decided against it. Instead, he nodded and started to cry into John's shoulder. Suddenly, I thought I saw someone appear behind John. Once the figure became more prominent, I immediately recognized them.

"A-Alex," I stuttered. "Behind John." Alex looked behind his boyfriend and his face filled with disbelief.

"M-mom?" he choked. The ghost of Rachel Faucette nodded and put her arms out. Alexander gladly ran onto them and squeezed his mother tight.

"I love you mama," he whispered. Rachel smiled at her son, then looked up and winked at me.

"Take care," I saw her mouth before disappearing. Once his mother was gone, Alex turned to me with a sad smile. I smiled back before looking around the room. Surprisingly, nobody (besides John) had realized what had just happened. At least I don't have to explain that encounter to them.

Once the hospital found out I was awake, I was told that I couldn't leave until tomorrow morning. I had been annoyed with the whole thing, but my attitude changed when Maria asked the doctor if she could stay with me overnight. The doctor had said yes, so Maria and I currently had the room to ourselves. She was snuggled up into my side like a lost puppy. I played with her hair while she stared at the wall.

"What are you thinking about?" I asked out of the blue.

"About how you said we'd continue later," Maria huffed. I smirked, then leaned over and kissed her neck.

"Then let's continue."
