Chapter 16 - Ice Cream

Lucas didn't fell asleep right away. He shut his eyes closed trying to but the adrenalin was taking over him. He just called Areum. They just had a late night talk. All his friends now knew that they are dating.

Could this get any better than this? He already felt like he's flying.

There is no way he can make himself tired or sleepy now, so he remained awake.

"How about your Tamagotchi?" Mark Lee muttered. At first Lucas thought he was sleep talking.

"I mean you've got to tell Areum that you're texting sweet messages to some random girl for money. If you don't one day she will know eventually." he continued. So he wasn't asleep yet. He heard their conversation.

"I don't have to. I was banned on the site. Plus, I already got my money back." Lucas replied just to shut Mark Lee's conscience or he might tell Areum.

"Good." Mark replied and never spoke again.

Areum waited with Herin on the couch for their dates. Usually they would just review notes at this time of the day for Monday, but today they have dates.

"So does Lucas know about the letter?" Herin asked Areum.

Areum pressed her lips on a thin line. She remember talking about it last night but she isn't sure what they really talked about. She forgot everything except the call.

"I think we did mention it." he nodded.

"Did you ask what he was doing that day he went to our classroom?" Herin asked another one. She looked excited. She might still believe the old gossip of that day.

Areum glanced at Ningning who was smiling as she shoot finger hearts at her phone. She might be video calling Najae.

Sweet.

That's it!

All she has to do is to make sure Ningning falls hard for Najae so she won't even think about going near Lucas.

That sounds like a plan now.

She felt her phone vibrate.

"We didn't really talk about it." Areum replied then clicked at the link to the survey just to distract herself from Herin's disappointed expression.
