Chapter 35 - Chewing Gum / Black on Black

"What happened?" Taeyong stood up right away. He knew that she was talking about Lucas but not sure why Lucas needs to be calmed down. That kid doesn't have a temper.

Without an answer, Taeyong took Areum's hands, running towards Mark's dorm where he assumed Lucas would be. When they got in the doorstep, it was just then when Taeyong realized that Areum has been running barefoot.

She rushed to open the door revealing Lucas who was digging inside his closet making a big mess of his things.

"Lucas!" Taeyong called but he looks like he's in some other dimension. Like he's not really present in this world.

"Lucas! You're scaring Areum. Stop it." Taeyong tried to touched his shoulders but Lucas shoved him away.

"Get away from me!" he yelled at him before searching on a different location. What is he even searching for? Why does he have to be rough and harsh?

If he's looking for his sanity then Taeyong won't mind.

"What is it that you're looking for? We can help you." Areum blocked his way so he won't keep moving all over the place.

"Mei's d-diary. I-I need Mei's diary. I n-need her." Lucas stuttered in panic, looking around absentmindedly.

"Didn't you give it to Yixing hyung?" Areum reminded finally getting Lucas' attention. He was now only looking at her.

"Oh, I must've forgotten. It was always with me that I forgot I gave it to him." Lucas said staring at Areum's terrified expression. He pulled her in a protective hug. "Sorry. I showed your my fucked up side." Lucas whispered too her. Taeyong hit Lucas' head jokingly.

"You little forgetful brat. Look at the mess you've made." he said before he started to fold the clothes.

Something is definitely bothering Lucas right now and Taeyong can tell, he just didn't want to ask him and make him feel uncomfortable. When a person needs help, he will eventually confine others when he's ready. Lucas will but as for now, Taeyong didn't want to be the nosy friend.

Areum felt different too. Hugging Lucas made her feel sad and heavy, unlike before. He used to be her sudden happiness at the school grounds, but now that he's slowly opening up, he's just like her.

Bothered.

Problematic.

And lost.

He was just good at hiding it.

Taeyong was very quick at organizing that while the two were absent minded he made the room sparkle on his own. "Now let's go and have a movie marathon with the others." he broke the silence, making sure the two would show themselves and reassure that everything's alright, so they won't have to worry.

The three of them went back to the girls' dorm to join the others. Upon opening the door, everybody screamed in horror.

Areum, and Taeyong got frightened that they both joined them screaming loudly.

'That's right. They were watching a horror film.' Taeyong recalled, calming himself.

The other laughed at both Areum and Taeyong. Their facial expressions were priceless.

Areum only laughed about it, walking straight to her room to change clothes. She feels more comfortable on her clothes.

When she came back to join them she was expecting a happy Lucas joking around with his friends, but she was wrong. Lucas was still absent minded. He looks like the cheerful side of him died.

Areum sat beside him noticing that he still has a fever.

Based on his flushed cheeks and his warm body. "Come with me." Areum pulled Lucas towards her room, reaching for a paracetamol in her medicine box.
