Chapter 1 - The Liar and his Lover

One year later...

Areum didn't stay bitter for too long after that event. If Lucas can find happiness in other's misery, she thought she should also find her happiness too, whether she's going to commit a murder or buy chicken nuggets.

Even though it was the very first time she got rejected, Areum never gave up on love and never blamed all men for that one unfortunate event. That's just Lucas.

Others keep all their presents on Valentines Day even though they don't like the person who gave it to them but Lucas was different. He looked pissed the moment he opened his locker.

He sounded frustrated and irritated with the gifts he received. Others don't even receive any. He doesn't see how lucky he is.

Seeing him throw everything in the trash, Areum felt lucky that she quit admiring him at the right time. All those eye contacts they had and smiles they shared now meant nothing to her, as she was sure that they meant nothing to him.

For a year she's now dating a sunbae, Jung Jaewon. A BS Rad Tech student that's sweet and caring. Even his voice is sweet.

He's the perfect guy for Areum, since she likes gentleman. He never once yelled or threw away any of her gifts.

Today was a very special day. It's their 1 year anniversary. Though Jaewon was busy with his internship, Areum still prepared something for him. A guy like him deserve the sweetest treatment since he's the best boyfriend Areum can ever date.

She travelled 5 hours straight just to get to the hospital he was assigned to for the internship. She's been then for quite a while. She always travel that far to see him and make time with him since he can't do it at the moment because of the internship.

Areum was convinced that he would do it for her too if she's going to be an intern.

On her way to the staff house where the interns are assigned to stay. She gladly knocked on the door.

The person to open the door was Bobby, another Rad Tech from their school. He looked like he was about to go out.

Perfect.

Areum greeted politely but when she was about to enter, Bobby slightly closed the door with a terrified expression.

"Sunbae why? It's me Areum." she smiled at Bobby but he still look shocked and confused.

He tried to change his expression but he still look worried. His fake smile is telling something chaotic.

Girl's instincts never fail, so when Areum got a bad feeling, she accidentally dropped the box of cake she was about to give Jaewon.

Two deep breaths and she pushed the door open with all her might. Bobby couldn't do anything as his hands and knees weakened the moment he saw Areum.

He stood there watching her try to open Jaewon's door by force. It was locked of course, he's doing something in there.

Without thinking twice, Areum reached for a card, slipping it to where the door knob is and it worked. What she saw was beyond her imagination.

She shouldn't have come here.

She shouldn't have surprised him.

She would've never seen them like this. She never would've discovered that he's cheating. By the way they looked, they seem like they've been doing this for quite sometime now.

The girl he's been messing around with was from another school. Maybe they met while training. Who would blame them if all they have is each other during a late night shifts and Jaewon's a very sweet and funny guy?
