Chapter 37 - Last Horcrux

"Yiyang, stay away from him." Lucas' mother warned her but she only raised the scissor.

"Don't worry, I got his weapon, I'm safe. Lucas can't even hurt a fly, even if you kick him he won't fight back." she reassured Lucas' parents, placing the scissor on the table, taking Lucas' hand to take him outside..

He was on his cloud print pajamas that was too short for him. He used to have them at High School but he grew up a lot since then. His hair was a mess and didn't even washed his face yet.

Outside their house, there was a track just across the street.

Areum held Lucas' hands even though he looked like a confused guy who's from another planet. They bought some seven eleven snacks and stayed at the secluded part of this park to talk.

Areum didn't demand Lucas to speak until he was ready.

"I was at the accident with my sister." he admitted on a low voice.

Areum covered her mouth with both hands in shock. She didn't know that part about Mei's accident. All Lucas told her was she died on a car crash.

"I was at the back seat." Lucas admitted.

(Flashback)

Lucas heard Mei's door open and her light footsteps. She might think she's a ninja but Lucas can hear her clearly because he was just sitting behind his own door waiting for her sneak out.

He wanted to come too.

He wanted to make sure where she's going.

He wanted to see this person she's meeting, if he's a worthy person for his sister.

So he followed her and went to the backseat of them car when Mei unlocked the car but opened the gates. Lucas sat at the backnsilently while Mei was singing a Korean song that he can't understand.

She even plugged her ipod and played the song she was singing. Lucas nodded his head because it was a really good song even though he couldn't understand Korean.

He reminded himself to download it later.

Mei went ahead and drove to the main highway even though she was only used to driving on an open space where there's no other cars present. She's doing well for a first timer.

But then her ipod fell down and got disconnected that she hand to reach the car floor for it. When she couldn't reach for it, Lucas helped her frightening the life out of her. She screamed but laughed when she realized that it was just Lucas.

"Oh God Lucas! You almost scared me to death." Mei laughed helping him with his seatbelt when a truck hit their car when Mei was focused on Lucas.

Mei served as his cushion and didn't hit his head on anywhere hard and concrete but Mei's back bone was crushed, she suffered multiple head injuries and was pronounced dead on arrival when they were both arrived at the hospital.

Only Lucas' leg was injured that he couldn't play sports anymore and can't walk too. He just sat on his room listening to his parents cry. He sat quietly waiting for his sister to comeback, holding onto the picture of them that day of the accident.
